A Bride's Rogue by Darlene Franklin was such an interesting read. I've never read about a steamship and Ms. Franklin made the vessel come alive. It was nice to read something different than the usual settings. I not only liked her hero and heroine but I loved the old captain. It's always nice when you have a secondary character that is fun and really adds to the story.

Blanche Lamar's father deserted her when she was just a child. Now, it seems he's left her a steamboat. Not only a steamboat, but the gambler that goes along with it. Blanche is being tested and must prove herself to the handsome rogue and the crusty captain. When she wants to learn to steer the ship, no one knows exactly what to think. Then, she starts Sunday worship meetings and the crew is convinced things are going to be run aground for sure. A Bride's Rogue is a wonderful historical romance rich with detail.
