Overview

As an author, scholar, and essayist, Sunny
Moraine has mused on a variety of things in a variety of ways. In this collection,
spanning over two years of work, they make their way through thoughts on the form and business of writing, the nature and meaning of games, the interweaving of society and technology, and the anxieties, awkwardnesses, and hopes of the everyday.

Gently humorous, self-deprecating, and occasionally painfully honest, these essays offer a journey through a process of body,
heart, and mind, and hints of what waits beyond.

About the Author

Sunny Moraine is an author of various flavors of speculative fiction; the flavor in question depends upon a complex conjunction of different variables, the exact nature of which they have yet to specify or untangle. Their work has appeared in Clarkesworld, Strange Horizons, Shimmer, Lightspeed, Apex Magazine, and multiple Year's Best collections, as well as the anthologies We See a Different Frontier and Long Hidden: Speculative Fiction from the Margins of History. They are responsible for the novels Line and Orbit (cowritten with Lisa Soem), and Labyrinthian, as well as the Casting the Bones trilogy.

In additional to occasional authoring, Sunny is a doctoral candidate in sociology and a sometimes college instructor; that last may or may not have been a good move on the part of their department. Their academic alter-ego blogs weekly at Cyborgology, concerning technology and politics and fiction and reality and lots of other things. They unfortunately live just outside Washington DC in a creepy house with two cats and a very long-suffering husband.
