Overview

Author of Bared to You and A Hunger So Wild Sylvia Day takes us into a shadowy underworld, where a powerful angel breaks all the rules by falling for the mortal whose life she’s saved…

Chained in the dark, Trevor Descansos endures pain and terror as vampires slowly drain the life from him. He finds mercy in Sentinel Siobhán, a beautiful avenging angel with lethal wings. She draws Trevor from the depths of hell, wrapping him in the softness of the same feathers that she wielded like blades to cut down his tormentors.

Ageless and eternal, Siobhán has seen too much to be surprised by anything, but the mortal she finds in the pit of a vampire den shakes her to the core. Broken and near death, his ravaged masculine beauty stirs the heart she hadn't realized she possessed. Though she’s tasked with eradicating the vampire disease sweeping across her world, she nurses Trevor back to health, healing him even as he awakens a forbidden longing.

But the true test has yet to come. Siobhán faces an even darker fate than Trevor’s, as she falls from grace into mortal love…

    Left me wanting

This novella follows along the same line as the rest of the Renegade Angels series with great characters and a romantic storyline, but I wouldn't recommend it for anyone who's is not fond of being left hanging at the end.

    more from this reviewer

A full description of Siobhan's story

In the world of angels and fallen ones. The main reason the Fallen became that way was for falling in love with mortals. For that they lost their wings and have now become eternal vampires. There are less then 200 Sentinals, angels who watch over the Earth and protect humanity from the Fallen and their minions. Siobhan is the scientist among the Sentinals. She has been given the mission to find a cure for a zombie like disease effecting the vampires, before it spreads to a disastrous amount. During the course of this she finds Trevor, a man who was used as a buffet for the minions for a full year, locked up in a basement. She felt horror for him and personally nursed him back to health, which seemed impossible. By doing this is she sealing her fate? To have the same fate as the fallen?
This was a fun quick read. I have already read both first and second installments of the Renegade Angels books so I already knew about Siobhan's war with herself on what she wants vs. what she can have. I really enjoyed seeing the more detailed version to her story to see what really happened, rather then a quick couple paragraphs about the situation.

    A note

Flutters down and comes to a stop at the den entranse. It was adressed to Shootingstar. It read:

    Shootingstar,
I am sorry that I have to do this. I had hoped to be happy and carefree. But none of that is going to happen, not now, not in the future. So I am going to live out my days as a loner, by myself. I will not talk to you, nor anyone else I already know. I will truely be alone. Best of luck with the clan. I really hope it starts to thrive. Remembre that I love you. And I always will, but I can't live with myself if two of my friends hate each other or if one hates me. I am sorry for whatever pain this may cause. But I hav to do this. Bye.

    Sincerely,
Love the Series

Have to disagree with other comments, I like that the endings leave you guessing what will happen next. So many books in this genre have predictable start and finishes. This is a great series that leaves u excited about what will happen next.
