This book explains why cemeteries cannot be run like other businesses and the unique long term challenges that must be addressed by cemetery managers and members of boards of directors.
John Llewellyn is president of Forest Lawn Memorial-Parks and Mortuaries in Southern California and a third generation cemetery CEO. An active leader in the cemetery industry, he is a past-president of the state and national trade associations. Having served as a director or chairman of governing boards of more than two dozen organizations, he has a broad perspective of the board governance process as well as hands-on knowledge of cemeteries. He graduated from the University of Redlands with a major in economics and received an MBA from the University of Southern California.
