A Century of Ragtime 1897-1997

Editorial Reviews

All Music Guide - Keith Farley
From Eubie Blake to Dick Hyman to David Thomas Roberts, this two-disc Vanguard collection celebrating the centennial of classic ragtime includes many top-rank composers Scott Joplin, Joseph Lamb, James Reese Europe, Hal G. Nichols and performers Max Morath, Joshua Rifkin, William Bolcom. Although it may be a bit too much for an introduction to the style especially since much of the second disc includes college groups, A Century of Ragtime is a triumphant set.
