I have used the history and metamorphosis of gospel music, charismatic attitudes, and situational preaching to realize that true worship is constantly evolving. The text reveals that worship evolution is not only necessary, it is also historical.
For example:
The book traces a basic history of gospel music and its shared influences with R and B and the use of the recording media.
I have chronicled the Black Church because the history and the struggles of black people have allowed the church to worship in a flexible manner.
Several musical examples are presented to indicate how traditions are absorbed by contemporary approaches.
