Faith-based fiction readers should be grateful that Philip Gulley once broke a promise. In his undergraduate days at Marian College, he received a passing D in composition, but only after vowing to his professor that he would never write again. The sixth Harmony Novel reconfirms our sense that this Quaker pastor continues to abide by his first principle: "I wanted to write not only about the good that people do, but also about the funny messes we get ourselves into, and about how, even in those moments, wonderful things can still happen."
Philip Gulley is the author of Front Porch Tales, Porch Talk, and the acclaimed Harmony series, as well as the host of "Porch Talk with Phil Gulley" on the Indiana PBS affiliate WFYI television's flagship show Across Indiana. He and his wife, Joan, live in Indiana with their sons, Spencer and Sam.
