A Charming Spell book four in the Magical Cures series by Tonya Kappes. I finished this book so quickly. I did not want to put it down. There is a new shop keeper in Whispering Falls. Some people are not happy that she is opening a new shop. June is still working on getting Oscar back to his old self, a murder takes place and there is a new Sheriff in town who happens to be hot. June has her hands full, with her shop, trying to make a potion for Oscar, and being the newly appointed town president, now add a murder investigation into the mix...as always Tonya delivers a lot of twists and turns, laughs and suspense. I read the last word in this book and wanted more. Love this series.

Tonya Kappes has done it again! June Heal is one of my favorite characters. I love to read her adventures in Whispering Falls with her finicky crystal ball, Madame Torres, and frisky feline familiar, Mr. Prince Charming. June always finds herself in the middle of a mystery in her little spiritual town, and this time is no different. When a member of the community is found murdered, it's up to June to solve the crime and catch the culprit. Throughout the book, many possibilities arose, and when the killer was revealed at the end, it was a bit of a shock. Throughout the book, June also dealt with being the newly-elected Village President, her heartache over losing Oscar, and her determination in getting him back. We also met some new residents of Whispering Falls. Wow! What a great book Tonya has written. I love hearing June's tales, and look forward to the next one.

I like the premises of these books, but the main character is relentlessly selfish & immature. She seems stuck at the emotional maturity of a 12 year old. Really annoying because I have wasted time & money hoping with each new book that this time it won't be that bad. Also, the author frequently uses words whose meanings she either doesn't know or understand. I've learned my lesson, no more Tonya Kappes books for me.

I enjoyed this book, a new shop is opening in town and there is a protestor against it. June is dealing with plenty in this book a new deputy, and his assistant, the book store owner Ophelia, the protestor, Oscar's memory is still gone, June is kept busy. The only problem I have with this story is for June wanting to make a potion to restore Oscar's memory because she's madly in love with him, she certainly puts it off quite a bit. I also wasn't fond of an incident with June and Ophelia about an innocent girl, I don't find people being picked on amusing. That being said, the mystery was good and kept me guessing, with some twists that kept me wondering what was going to happen next. I do like the introduction of Ophelia, I think she's definitely going to add some fun to this cast of characters. I will continue on with this series.
