It completely sets the mood for Christmas, but I did find one problem: a couple of pages are out of order. In my copy, Scrooge is visited by the Ghost of Christmas Past before visited by Marley. It wasn't that much of an issue, because I knew how it was supposed to be.

I can't help but smile whenever I read this book. This version is not the modernized language version and so retains all of the original charm. I enjoyed the old illustrations as well. My only reservation is that a section of the text - the entire conversation with Marley - is located in the wrong section of the book. An easy mistake for the publisher to correct, but a huge distraction in it's present form.

I have seen the various versions of the movie, but had never read the original story until this year. I love it! New Christmas tradition at my house now!!

It's the classic Christmas tale you've seen adapted and presented a dozen ways. Get the full text and finally be able to say: the book was better. Relatively short for a classic. Can easily be read in less than a day. Word choice is not all that far from how we speak in the US today, despite this being a 19th century, British story. Easy to read.

This book definitely helps you keep in mind the reasons one should be generous and kind all year long, but especially giving at Christmas time.
