A Collection: Presidential Inaugural Addresses: George Washington to George W. Bush

Not only does the book contain the inaugural addresses of our presidents, but great information by: president, party, religion, occupation, and birth state. Great index on numerous topics found within the addresses. I highly recommend.

    WHAT A HISTORICAL TREASURE!

I received this edition as a college reference resource. It is fantastic tool especially in my government class. Reading the actual words of our presidents has been much better than reading excerpts selected by reporters as interpreted in their words. This collection is a must for any historian and a student of political science.

An extremely useful reference or informational book to own.

This collection of Inaugural Addresses is an invaluable book to have. It is unlike other books, in that it has all the inaugural addresses up to present time and is simply compiled in this book. You get exactly what you pay for, the Presidential Inaugural Addresses, and it is worth every bit of your purchase price. I have really enjoyed having such a beautiful book and I know you will too.

Great source of Information and History

The design and beauty of this book makes it a must for any collector's personal library. I received a copy of this book for my Birth Day and plan to use when I start my Government class this spring. With an elaborate index it is easy to find reference topics on specific issues, and what makes this book unlike any other, is the insert option which allows you to update the book with future Presidential Inaguruals.

    A Beautiful Collection - Outstanding!!!

I have this publication. It is a beautiful book of which I can add future addresses, very clever idea. Also, the Index is a real time saver in reading different topics within related presidential addresses. I plan to give some lawyer friends copies of the addition for Christmas. Great work!!

A Must for Understanding the Shaping of our Nation

I found the substance of this book simple yet deeply enlightening. A review of the inaugural addresses spoken by each president upon taking the oath of his office provides an insight into the time, culture and issues being faced by our country as it grew. It is interesting, for example, to see that even during the time of Benjamin Harrison, partisan politics were becoming a problem. I believe this book to be a MUST for those who would understand our nation's history and the ideas of those who would be president.

    Great reference tool!

This book has many wonderful qualities for personal and reference use. Our school libraries are currently using it, and the librarians, teachers, administrators and students love it! It has a great, easy-to-use index with cross-indexing, which makes anything easy to find. You can add future inaugural addresses to it because it has blank pages for that purpose. The large print is easy to see and use, and the quality of the the paper, binding, and illustrations are all great. I would recommend this book to any library or home.

What Every American Should Know About America1

I received this book as a gift. I thought it was going to be dull, but was I happily surprised! The historical perspective that it displayed, from the point of view of our most important elected official - the President - was thorough and informative. Particularly in light of the crises facing us today, it was eerily enlightening to look through Dr. Garcia's thorough Topic Index and review the past. For example, how many presidents focused on 'Dangers to the Republic,' and what did they perceive as 'dangers,' or which Presidents were concerned about Education, or about Immigration Policies, or about War. It's all there in Dr. Garcia's book - easy to reference and easy to compare. As a retired educator, as a voter, as a tax-payer and as a woman, I believe that this book should be in every school library. It would be an excellent gift for a high school or college graduate and I intend to present it to muy grandchildren as they prepare to enter college. American History could easily be taught from this book. Why did each President choose those particular words in his inaugural address? What events were happening at the time that led the President to address the nation in this way? My Marine nephew recently returned from Iraq. He started leafing through the book and before I knew it he was deep into reading it. He said it gave him a much better picture of where he stood in the scope of this country's history. Most high school (even college students) are first exposed to American History in a very dull way, using huge, heavy textbooks that present history as a series of tiny bytes of information...and then they're tested on how many independent facts of information they can recall. This book presents all of our history in one reasonably-sized book, in a way that enables us to get the facts from the person who was there, the President, and then to compare those facts across years, across Presidents, across topics. It's an ingenious history lesson!

    more than a collection

This mesmerizing publication is more than a collection, it is a collectors' item and educational tool. The official Presidential Seal and Title are embossed in a shiny gold color making it a perfect 'classy' gift for someone you are trying to impress. The information will lead you on a journey beyond the parameters of the title by providing specific and hard-to-find Presidential facts. My 13 year old recently recieved an extra credit grade for his summation of President George Washingtons' inaugural address. His teacher was so impressed with the book that reading a different address to her students is now a regular Friday activity.

Collection: Presidential Inaugural Addresses (George Washington to George W. Bush)

This book is outstanding! A great historical refernce, never been done before. I received this book from a friend and actually met the author, he is very knowledgable about history in our country. He also knows how important it is to have references like this available to everyone. There have been many people look at my book and wonder where they could get one. This book would be an excellent source to have in your store.
