This is a must-have book for users of the Rider-Waite tarot deck. Eden Gray analyzes the symbolism of the cards in striking detail, with telling references to classical mythology where appropriate. She pays particular attention to individual elements in the images, and notes their reappearance and continuing meaning throughout the deck. She also provides the usual sections on spreads and reading the cards, as well as discussions of tarot's relation to numerology, the horoscope, and the Kabbalah. A glossary of symbolic meanings is also included. This a little gem of a book, and for the price, may be the best value on the market!
This book made reading the Tarot for me so simple I have recomended it to everryone I meet who wants to learn the cards it is simple and easy to read and I keep it along with the cards in my purse wherever I go!
I've used this book for 34 years and have found no others that I've bought along the way come close to the clear descriptions and logical layout of this book!
THE best book on Tarot I have ever read. If you want in-depth information on the symbolism and imagery of the Rider-Waite tarot, look no further. There are no cookie-cutter interpretations here, and the book teaches you to interpret the cards not only on their own but in respects to position, orientation, and the other cards in the spread. An excellent book for the first-timer. I've been practicing tarot since 1995 and I still use and recommend this book.
