    Very complete study guide

After deciding to get my A+ certification from scratch, I bought this title and used it as my number 1 study guide. It is very complete and thorough as well as organized in a logical way. Very good for beginners. The only weaknesses I found was that most of the networking questions I encountered on the exams were not covered in the corresponding sections. There is also alot of information in the core module that you will not need such as a very thorough look at resistors (determining by the color schemes exactly what the resistance value is) Although it is good info. to have, it did not show up on my exams. There are also some technical errors, that's why you should use more than one study guide to find the discrepencies. Overall, probably one of the best study guides out there. It helped me score an 87% on the core module and a 90% on the dos/windows. Also remember that the exams will be changed in the second quarter of 2000 (July).

    Great source for A+ exam

If you use this book for what it is meant for (ie, studying for the A+ exam), then it is excellent. Some of the material is outdated, but it should be. The actuall A+ test is way outdated, and this book's information is almost exactly on track with the test. The CDROM was very nice because it takes you through a practice test of your choosing (random, specific topics), and is similar to the setting and look of the real A+ exam. I used only this book to study for the exam and I passed both halves of the test in the 90's.

    Best Broad Definition

Pretty much Covers all the Topics Needed for the A+ Exam. Add on Cd is Excellent. However it does not Cover Multimeter Use which CompTIA doesn't put on its core requirements but appear on the TEST. Also Has excellent glossary of TERMS.
