This book was more of a 3.5 stars for me. After reading Ryan's story, adman 's brother, I didn't feel the fire that I felt in book 1. I know the story lines are different but I felt it took to long to pick up, as we knew that there was some betrayal , we just needed to know what it is and how they were going to fix it.  Adam married Lisa and never thought she would deceive him the way she did.  Adam is the Mayor and is running for congress. His numbers are low and his best friend and adviser Richard, lets him know he needs to get back with Lisa until the end of the race, because he needs her to win.   Lisa loves Adam, but is reluctant to tell him about her past as it would come back to haunt her. It's the reason she deceived him. Now both must live together in the Mayor's Mansion until the race is over. The book opens with an issue of betrayal between Adam and Lisa.  Even though Lisa wants to reconcile after 3 months of separation, Adam doesn't feel he could do that. I did like the story, but the progress wasn't to my liking. Half way through the book, the reader is left wondering what the betrayal is. After finding out it more I felt as though she deceived than betray him, before they got married. When I found out what this betrayal was I was disappointed, until I read further about Lisa's childhood. I also enjoyed reading about Lisa's best friends, Sonya and Lacy. The author also gave us a little story in the book with Sonya and Richards. Sonya doesn't want a relationship with Richard, because of what her ex husband did to her. She is also reluctant because she is older than Richard.****   Reviewed by (Romance Novel Junkies Book Reviews) LIKE us on fb as well as join our group which includes author's and readers Romance Novel Junkies  has 550+ members.
