Excellant story. Do not let the authors attenton to detail put you off on this book, you will very quickly realize that the main charactor is telling the story. By the end of the book I was riding in that plane with him and felt like I could have landed it for him if need be!! I couldn't put the book down and will read more from this author, whom was unknown to me prior. Free read really made this a bonus!!! Don't miss out.

Excellent tale...exciting, intriguing, however, WAY TOO MANY TYPOS, misspellings, poor grammar, poor sentence construction! That was distracting, but I kept reading, because, basically the story was great. If this author writes more books, he needs to get them proof-read and edited better in the future. But I do love the setting, since I live in Central Florida and could relate to the area being described.

Tedious, poor grammar and too many typos

It seems the author is more concerned about showing off his knowledge of flying than he is on writing a murder mystery. The grammar and typos were so bad that I called it quits after reading just two chapters. Also disturbing was how the author described Rush as being one of the greatest rock bands ever and how each of the three members are the best musicians with their respective instruments. I have no qualms about this assessment as I have a similar opinion, but if you are going to write about this in your book you would think you would spell the lead singers name correctly. The lead singer is Geddy Lee, not Getty Lee. The author should get a decent proofreader and/or editor to reduce or eliminate the poor grammar, typos and errors. Even though this book was free I feel that I overpaid for it with my time lost.

    Good story.

I like the fact that the author used his own background to create Jake's character. As I neared the end, I didn't want to put my Nook down - I enjoyed the story. Perhaps an additional editor (or another set of eyes) can catch more typos before the books / stories are made available.

Too much sizzle, not enough steak

I think the author had his book on planes rejected so he tossed in a half baked mystery and sold it. Could have been 200 pages less and accomplished the same story. Wish he would have spent as much time detailing characters as he did planes. Trite storyline, flat characters except main guy, very predictable, cliched lines. Pretty much like reading a very long, bad script of CSI Miami.

    Not real good

Well i learned a lot about airplanes and lyrics to songs. Wait a minute...wasnt there susposed to be a story somewhere in the middle of all that needless info?

    Interesting story

Well written, A few typos, but not a problem. The musical portions add nothing to the story & should be omitted.

good idea for a book but the writing was over detailed and monotonous.writer seemed like he stretched a short story into a book.

    Boring.

I tried to finish but could not go beyond 230 pages. Author seemed more concerned with musical lyrics which I skipped over. Able to overlook grammatical errors if the reading is good. There was too much unnecessary detail. Get on with the story. Some points in the story dwelled so much on flying that I forgot that there was a murder to solve. I usually can finish a book no matter how bad, but this is one I could not. I have no idea how it ended. Wish I could rate this a zero.

    Murder mystery???

Lots of tedious descriptions and music lyrics with a little murder thrown in between. Added nothing to the story-line, and you find yourself skipping a lot of it. You just want to tell the author "get on with it". The girlfriend's murder is avenged rather well though.

    Needs editing

While there were some exciting parts to the novel, much of it was overshadowed by the tedious, endlessly descriptive details that did little to forward the storyline. A professional editor could have shaved 100 to 200 pages off the total length of the 500+ page novel and made the plot race. Instead I found myself flipping forward to find out when the endless (and useless) details about how to repair an Ultralight/pack gear into a plane/set the table/etc... would end. Sometimes extraneous details are a red herring to distract the reader from the final outcome, in this case they just frustrated/bored the reader.

    Had its moments

Interesting story and characters; a bit verbose at times. A lot of flying and direction/location and airplane detail.
