About the Author

Andrew X. Pham is a professional food writer, restaurant critic, and celebrated memoirist. He is the award-wining author of "Catfish and Mandala", "The Eaves of Heaven", and "A Theory of Flight". He is the recipient of the Kiriyama Prize, QPB Prize for Nonfiction, New York Times Notable Book, the Guggenheim Fellowship, the Whiting Writer Award, and other honors. He was born in Vietnam (1967) and came to the US when he was ten years old. He has spent the last decade living, cooking, eating, traveling in Southeast Asia. He lives on the Mekong in a homestead he built with his partner and two dogs.
