Overview

Hold on! This is not your traditional romance all wrapped up in a pretty box and tied with a HEA pink bow!
A Date with Fate is the roller coaster ride of a debut novel by Tracy Ellen, and the first volume in The Adventures of Anabel Axelrod ongoing series. Experience action, sex, romance, wit, mystery, mayhem, friends, family, fantasies, flashbacks, lots of laughter and an "OMG!" cliffhanger—all in one wild weekend!

Meet Anabel Axelrod…Smart, Sassy, and Sexy. Anabel owns a bookstore in the town she’s lived in all her life. She is a girly-girl, she is a control freak, and she is one determined woman. Determined to not fall for love!

Meet Luke Drake...Brains, Bad, and Built. Luke is new in town. He is all man, control is his middle name, and he is coolly determined. Determined to win Anabel!

Eyes clash, sparks fly, and worlds collide when these two meet, but very quickly the not-too-tall, deliciously dark, definitely not handsome, but intriguingly hot Luke Drake is not Anabel’s only worry. Many strange things are happening in the town of Northfield, Minnesota and the blonde bookseller is a magnet for trouble. Anabel’s perfectly uncomplicated life is suddenly turned into chaos with the problems of a missing wife, a missing gun, and a homicidal rapist on the loose.

Will Anabel learn the hard way that sometimes fate leaves us no choices, some rules are meant to be broken, and a certain mesmerizing complication may be worth the trouble--even if it kills her?

Courted by Karma (Vol. II) and In Love by Design (Vol. III) in the ongoing series of The Adventures of Anabel Axelrod are available for immediate purchase!

Author’s note: This series contains sexual encounters and language suitable for adults only.

Meet the Author

About Tracy Ellen...I was born in Indiana to middle-class parents, the third out of five hellions. I often used my supernatural powers to force my family members to listen to me talk and tell stories. When they laughed of their own free will, I knew the world would someday, somehow be my stage. I've lived in the Midwest my whole life--in a small town, on a farm, and in the big city. Currently, I live in the 'burbs of St Paul, Mn. with my family. I’m married and still tormenting the man I started stalking at age seventeen. Luckily, I'm speaking about the same man. The historical town of Northfield featured in Anabel’s Adventures is just down the road a jaunt. I like writing about the values and independent spirits of people found in small town living, but with a definitely modern twist. I hope you enjoy my books. Thanking you for checking me out.

I love this book and this author...
I'll start my review by saying I know the author personally. Promising to write a honest review before I read the book had me nervous. Tracy suggested I write it anonymously to relieve any pressure if I hated her first book and wanted to bash her.  It is with great pleasure to report I don't have to do that--Tracy, your books are simply awesome! Your writing drew me in and I had a great time seeing the world through Anabel's eyes. You may regret that I have read your books because now I will dog you to write more and write faster.

    Simulated rape? Yuck!

The book opens with what seems to be a rape scene. It's really sexual role-playing to an extreme degree, but that was not made clear until the scene ended. It made a mockery of real rape. I was disgusted and could not read further.

    A Blast From The Start

I love the trend of making the first book in a series free. Tracey Ellen is now a favorite. As soon as I finished this one I purchased the next two. This is a well thought out story with highly entertaining characters. It grabs your interest from the start and continues to flow well throughout the entire story. I'm looking forward to continuing in this world.

    I want to scream!!

This has got to be the most frustrating book I have ever read and I never give a bad review. Too much jumping aroud, too much detail about jibberish, not enough plot. I have forced mysel to read a little more than half way through trying to give it a chance. Not even going to finish it. With that being said, I will add that I always finish a book and find something to like about it. I'm sorry to say, not this time.

    Unexpected greatness!

I read this book after reading the many reviews. If I'm honest, I certainly didn't expect to fall in instant love with Anabel! Seriously, she is the ultimate character; funny, quirky, hilarious and she owns her faults and turns them into assets! The story kept me interested and reading even after my body wanted rest! Overall great read!

    JUST OKAY

This book was just okay. There were cleverly written/exciting parts but it also droned on and on at points. I hated the ending--I'm a sucker for the traditional romance novel ending. This book could've been cut down by 100 pages--almost too much detail.

    Good book

I got this book free. It is a great read. This is the first of a three book series featuring Bel and Luke. I highly recommend all three books.

    Loved, loved, loved this book.

Most entertaining book I have read in a long time. Couldn't put it down once I got started. I highly recommend this book to anyone that enjoys a smart, sassy leading lady, a strong, sexy leading man and a mystery that keeps you guessing.

    Seriously Witty Woman!

This is a woman who has a great sense of humor! How can one woman get into so much trouble in such a short period of time? Well, if I had Luke bailing me out, I would, too!!! Loved, Loved, Loved this series. Treat yourself and read all 3 books in the series.

This author has a very unique writing style that really draws you in. I really like the way this series of books roll right into the next and keeps the story line going. All three books are filled with danger, intrigue and romance. The only drawback was the language/rather explicit sex scenes...but the stories themselves are so well written that you can't wait to see what happens next. Hated it when I finished the series!

    Huh??

I'm really not understanding the rave reviews. The story drags and is clunky, there is way too much of the main character over analyzing everything, and there are grammatical errors all over the place. I agree with the other reader who felt like they were reading a different book than the rest of the reviewers!!

I am finding it hard to believe that I read the same book that all the other reviewers are raving about.
This book did not hold my interest at all. I had a hard time getting through it.
I do have to say that the editing was well done compared to may other free books that I have read
