Editorial Reviews

Children's Literature - Sharon Salluzzo
General information about troubadours in the Middle Ages is presented in the first part of the book. The second part provides a glimpse at the life of Peire Vidal, a twelfth-century French troubadour. As part of the series "A Day With...", this is intended to provide information for school reports. There are two different styles of text in the first part which create a very busy format with little information. The fictionalized biography in the second part really presents just one incident in Peire's life. Students will gather some interesting information about a medieval tournament in both the text and illustrations. Peire remains a static personality throughout. Other titles in the series are A Miller, A Noblewoman, and A Stonecutter.
