I have read all of the donut series & was excited for the new series from Jessica Beck. This second book in the new serires has amazing character backgrounds and relationship; very true to life in many ways.
This ebook had typos which was a surprise to me, not because I never make, because I do, but because that just added to the feeling this was a forced / rushed piece of work. At one point in the book, I have read it over and over, and it makes no sense, I came only assume either the wrong character name was used or the sentence in question was placed in the wrong area.
Adding to the forced feeling is the extremely quick killer reveals book books in this series have... this one in particular also left questions unanswered on why another character was arrested with a needle...the story never went back to wrap that angle up... in fact there are several dangling storylines that just are hanging.
I am a fan of Beck books, but I cannot helpnto think that these are being published for quantity, not quality.
Its worth a read if you enjoy cozy mysteries, this series is new, so it has the potential to improve... and I am very excited that there was a mention of the beloved Donut Harts in this book... I can only hope this means a character crossover soon.
