I became an instant fan after reading Ms. Bennett's first book A Dozen Deadly Roses, but having just read A Deadly Blessing I am more than impressed. A Deadly Blessing is another page turner; a terrific mystery full of twists & turns, great insight into the world of police tactics, politics and the characters are so real. I couldn't put it down. Ms. Bennett has written a real saga and I can't wait for more. This book is a real winner.

Almost as great as A Dozen Deadly Roses! Glad to see Jade return and I'm anxiously looking forward to seeing more of Maddie and Jade!

I'm proud to say that Kathy Bennett now has a place on my bookshelves as one of my favorite authors. This book certainly kept me on the edge of my seat and I couldn't wait to find out what was going to happen to each character at the end of each chapter. I just had to keep reading! I hope you all enjoy this book as much as I did - I can't wait to see the next book with Jade and Maddie together.

After reading Bennett's first book, A Dozen Deadly Roses, I was expecting another romantic suspense in A Deadly Blessing. Boy was I surprised, and pleasantly so! Her first book was good - a keeper by anyone's standards, but Bennett has found her voice in this one. Fans of the old Dragnet series will love the 'Just the facts, ma'am,' delivery from LAPD Detective Maddie Divine, sprinkled with enough stress relieving humor and suspense to keep you turning the pages.
*mini-spoiler here, so skip to the bottom if you don't want a hint*
I have to admit to some misgivings regarding the ending, but I'm a romantic at heart and can't help wanting everyone to live happily ever after. Since this isn't a romance, it took me a while to put that aside and accept that the end is what it is, and as in most police procedural type stories not everything works out the way we want it to.
*mini-spoiler is over, you can jump back in now!*
All things considered, the ending will satisfy the suspense junkie and keep the romance junkie coming back to see if Bennett can turn things around for her character in the next book. *fingers crossed* Did I mention that I'm a hopeless romantic?

I read Kathy Bennett's first book and really liked her style so couldn't wait to get to the newest one. It certainly did NOT let me down. This was a roller coaster ride and even got me through the 'street language'. The plot was rich, surprising and kept me guessing throughout the book.
Kathy is an expert in making you either love or hate her characters. (She makes me think I've known some of the politicians and police personnel!)
The frightening thing about this story is the knowledge that even though this is fiction, somewhere in our world, the same case scenario is happening in real time. Makes you want to latch onto your loved ones, especially the young, and make them aware there are BAD people out there who can hurt .
Wonderful experience and I can't wait for Ms. Bennett's future work.

This book hit me from the first page. I enjoyed it immensely.
The female detective is worth following in future books. This
was a ripped from the headlines grabbing should be considered a
blockbuster for sure.

This is a very good book, and easy to read and keep up with. Sometimes in reading books with several key characters, it is hard to keep up with which character is speaking. Kathy Bennett has the characters alternating chapters so you know who is telling the story.

Really keeps your mind going, as she switches you from scene to scene and interweaves them beautifully. I love the style of getting perspective of one character, then switching to another character living the same event - like spying on them. I really enjoyed this book.

I totally loved the book, "A Deadly Blessing" though the ending took me for a loop which I was not expecting. When I was reading and got through three-fourths of the book, I could not understand where the title of the book fit in. But once I got to the end it was totally clear. I also could not believe how fast I was turning the pages. "A Deadly Blessing" totally kept my interest and I felt I was sitting on the edge afraid something was going to happen that I did not want to happen.
Once you pick this book up and start reading you will not put it down until you are finish!
Can't wait for the next Kathy Bennett book!!!

It took at long time to develop the story. It wasn't very suspenseful.
The book spend more time talking about the couple and their renewed relationship than anything to do with the case. The end was anti-climatic.
