This book is a real asset to increase your metric vocabulary very rapidly. It does not contain conversion tables - so just 'think metric'. This handy guide avoids lots of the jargon that is found in some technical books, however it does contain useful information that Physics students can refer to. Recommended for all high school libraries in the USA. Start 2007 with this lightweight paperback ideal to browse through.

This is an excellent book for people to ponder over the character sizes. It is ideal for schools to buy copies for students to help ensure that they don't write inKorrect units like 'Kg' and 'Km'. For science lessons it will be very useful because there are NO imperial units in it.

This book is not just an essential reference book for science students at high school, it is a useful and lightweight book for International airline travellers. Browsing through it will not only enrich a person's vocabulary it'll make them aware of the hundreds of symbols in the SI (metric) system. Highly recommended.

This is a valuable guide for high school students - especially those doing senior Physics. Schools should purchase copies not just for their science departments, but also for the school library. The author uses the International Standards Organization's recommendations, this is not just 'metric' it is SI units. Non-scientists will also enjoy reading and browsing through this delightful paperback.
