Overview

Heartache. Betrayal. Forgiveness. Redemption. It's time to head back to Magdalena, New York, and spend a little time with the people we love to love and even a few we love to hate. Eight years ago, tragedy struck the town's perfect couple, Daniel "Cash" Casherdon and Tess Carrick, days before their wedding. That tragedy shredded their dreams of a life together and sent them fleeing Magdalena. Now, destiny has brought them back and the town is determined to see this couple mend their differences. Angelo "Pop" Benito will lead the crusade to march Cash and Tess down the aisle with the help of The Bleeding Hearts Society, a garden group more interested in healing people's hearts than helping a sick basil plant. But they're not the only ones cheering for this couple's second chance. Who would have thought Nate Desantro would be giving advice on relationships, love, and marriage? But when a man finds the right woman, anything is possible. Add a baby to the mix; well, that's pure "hero" material. Christine will offer her share of support and wisdom to Tess and stand up to an old troublemaker in the name of family and friendship. From the fifty-something widow who is afraid to open her heart again to the pregnant friend who believes everyone has a soul mate, to Lily Desantro, the shining light who makes others believe anything is possible, Magdalena's finest will rally to give Tess and Cash that second chance. But all the prayers and contrivances in the world won't help until Tess reveals the secret she's carried for too many years, a secret that could destroy her chance with Cash forever... And if you're wondering about Harry Blacksworth and his brood, you'll glimpse a snippet of what he's up to, but he'll be back in full force in A Family Affair: Fall. Not only that--he's moving to Magdalena with Greta and the kids! Can you imagine Harry maneuvering a lawnmower or carrying out the trash? Oh, but his past is going to catch up with him and then...

Meet the Author

Mary Campisi writes emotion-packed books about second chances. Whether contemporary romances, women's fiction, or Regency historicals, her books all center on belief in the beauty of that second chance. Mary should have known she’d become a writer when at age thirteen she began changing the ending to all the books she read. It took several years and a number of jobs, including registered nurse, receptionist in a swanky hair salon, accounts payable clerk, and practice manager in an OB/GYN office, for her to rediscover writing. Enter a mouse-less computer, a floppy disk, and a dream large enough to fill a zip drive. The rest of the story lives on in every book she writes. When she’s not working on her craft or following the lives of five adult children, Mary’s digging in the dirt with her flowers and herbs, cooking, reading, walking her rescue lab mix, Cooper, or on the perfect day, riding off into the sunset with her very own ‘hero’ husband on his Ultra Limited aka Harley. Another great story about love lost & live found again in this continuation of Mary Campisi's series. I enjoy laughing and a few tears as I follow the people of Magdalena. Looking forward to more about Uncle Harry.

This is the second in the series I've read and, while certainly solid in its own right, was not as good for me as the first. I am so enamored of Christine and her terrible discovery and its unexpected happy resolution that any story line to follow could only pale in comparison! But if you enjoy romances with seemingly insurmountable obstacles, you will enjoy this!

With each book read I say the same thing.. These books are not for readers looking for hot sex scenes but, if you want to read outstanding stories of life, love, forgiveness and friendship; Stories about people and their lives who might be friends and neighbors... Stories about the hurts and healings of real people so beautifully written you will often weep, then you want to read this series... I am on Book 4 and I am totally addicted... I know when the last book is read I will weep some more... Author has a remarkable talent...

I happen to stumble upon the first book. It was free and looked like an interesting story. One day, I decided to give it a chance. I COULD NOT PUT IT DOWN. The story line, the characters, the setting. It just sucked me right in!!! I read all three books in a matter of days!! Love love loved them!! I cant wait for the next one that comes out in the fall. Thank you Mary, not only were the books absolutely wonderful, they can also make you think about life. Your own life. Please keep writing about our favorite characters!

I strongly recommend this book, this series. You should read A Family Affair Book One first, and then A Family Affair: Spring next, before this one. This series needs to be read in order to enjoy them best. The author wrote at the end that this series is about heartache, betrayal, forgiveness, and redemption and that  says it for this series. I also feel it shows that  friends and communities still love and support others, even in today's world. A very good read. I highly recommend. Looking forward to the next book in this series.

What a wonderful series! Characters are well defined and you can't help but fall in love with them. This storyline in this book revolves around the relationship between Tess and Cash. However, the characters from the other books play important roles in this book as well - Nick, Christine, Lily, Pop Benito, etc. Can hardly wait for the next book in the series.
