The story starts out well - and has many good points. The hardest thing is to picture an eleven-year old taking on so many responsibilities. If you ignore the 'ages' of the boys, it is a good story.

How far would you go to protect your family's legacy? Would it make a difference if the family legacy is all you and your teenage brother have left?
Those questions are the premise behind the story in this book. The two teenage brothers have suffered two major tragedies in the last four years, and now they find themselves on their own. How, why, and what they decide to do drew me in as Connor Watson and his brother dealt with a number of crises but still managed to find the courage to help others. The storytelling was vivid and I especially liked the rescue scene. All of the book was very well written; exciting, real, and heartwarming. It was also great to see how the family all supported each other, and how that made things better for all of them. It got me wondering what I would do if I was Connor. This book also reminded me of what a true family can be, and pointed out that the best families are not always joined by blood, but by chance and choice.
I highly recommend this book. Read this story and decide if you would make the same choices as Connor.

The ages of the children make this story totally unrralistic and foolish. Age appropriate children would make this story so very much more enjoyable.

Wish the children involved were old enough to make it believable. Totally unrealistic and irreesponsible where the adults are involved in their lives.**
