Overview

The only way to save her is to bind their souls as one.

Araneae Nation, Book 2

Born with the ability to communicate with the dead, few things take Mana by surprise. But when a canis lopes into her life, announcing himself as the long-dead father of a childhood friend, she's shocked. To make matters worse, he has a dire message that she alone can deliver.

Now Mana must face Vaughn, the male who inspired one too many girlish fantasies, and impart the spirit's message-without acknowledging her source-so the soul can be laid to rest.

With rumors of a burgeoning clan war setting his nerves on edge, the last thing Vaughn needs is for an innocent to get caught in the crosshairs. But the woman he remembers as an awkward girl refuses to leave his side until he's heard her out. That's not the only change in her that calls to him. Her kindness soothes his battle-scarred soul-and he craves her in ways a warrior shouldn't.

When they are both captured, they learn of an even greater threat. The plague devastating the southlands has come to his clan home. And his best-and only-chance to keep his people alive is the female who walks among the dead.

Warning: This book contains one fierce hero with a nose for danger, one stubborn heroine who smells like trouble, and one wolfish spirit who makes most relationships with the in-laws seem downright tame. Fur, fangs and some biting should be expected. But never fear, the hero has a sword, and he knows how to use it.

Editorial Reviews

From the Publisher
4 1/2 Stars! “The author spins an action-packed story of intrigue and betrayal, with an endearing romance at its heart. I adore a good marriage of convenience tale that ultimately turns into much more–and this one is exceptional. The dialogue is strong, the storyline compelling, and the prose artful.”
—RT Book Reviews magazine on A Hint of Frost

“Ms. Edwards has created the perfect definition of fantasy romance.”
—Anna’s Book Blog on Everlong

“Are you a Game of Thrones addict? Have you started referring to your girlfriends as ‘wenches’ and the husband as ‘my lord,’ really pushing for that ‘your grace’ title you so desperately want? Well, Hailey Edwards’s Hint of Frost might just be the book you’ve been looking for.”
—Heroes and Heartbreakers

Meet the Author

Hailey is a small-town girl at heart. She’s lived most of her life surrounded by sprawling cotton fields and rolling pastures. Her desire to explore the world without leaving the comfort of home fueled her love of reading. Whenever life in the Deep South strikes her as too ordinary, she can be found with her nose glued to her Kindle’s screen or squinting at her monitor as she writes her next happily-ever-after. Wings and/or cupcakes are usually involved.

    Better than the first book.

I read Hint of Frost and liked it. Feast of souls was even better. It was a longer book and the characters' struggle with new love was more believable. I have the 3rd book on preorder. The author definitely has created a new fantasy world that I am falling in love with!!!

Review originally posted at Romancing the Book

This is the fourth book I’ve read by Hailey Edwards and she can count me as a fan. I stumbled across Everlong, the first book in her Daughters of Askara series, and enjoyed the read. So when I had the opportunity to read and review A Hint of Frost, the first book in the Araneae Nation series, I jumped at the chance. It was a delicious read and I gobbled it up. Then came A Feast of Souls and I couldn’t wait to dive in and read more about this creative world and its intriguing characters. I was not disappointed.

Vaughn was one of my favorite characters from the first book so I was excited to read more about him. I found him irresistible. If I were Mana I wouldn’t have been able to keep my hands off him.

The world that Ms. Edwards created for this series is unique and wonderful. This series reminds me of an “other world” Native American story and I’ve always loved the Native American culture and their stories.

With a threat of plague, being captured by the enemy, a greedy mother, a selfish aunt and their cultural difference in their way, Mana and Vaughn’s story makes for a great romance.

I thoroughly enjoyed the book but I felt like the ending was rushed. It was like ok they are together…..the end. I hope the next installment gives us a better ending to this sweet story and I can’t wait to read it!
