Loud Praise I Chant for this... well, Chant

For those who enjoy Medieval and, or liturgical music, Sister Hildegard's music is a beautious diversion at any time. This recording is well in keeping with its grand title, serving as an introduction to chant as well, particularly for those who have been frightened away by stranger medieval tunes which are a more acquired taste. Indeed one is transported to a different age, both peaceful, chivalrous and mournful. Hildegard's deep faith is evident through her music, and the perfomers demonstrate a genuine appreciation for the genre and these specific titles. This is a trip back in time that all can take with pleasure.

    Simply the best!

Never in my life did I think I would enjoy music such as this. I heard this recording playing in a music store. I have loved it ever since; truely transformational in it's beauty. It is so sensual even a secular person as such as myself can feel the heartfelt longing, love, and offering of devotion. I am always transported to a place and time of pastoral quietness while listening to this. It has been 14 years since I purchased this CD and it is still on my favorates list to play regularly. There is no symphonic accompanyment as stated in the top review, it is all done with a drone in the backround to keep with it's historical prospective; it couldn't sound any better!
