About the Author

My name is Richard Pineda, and I am an artist – a tattoo artist. Even when I can introduce myself as the author, I chose to stick with the former. The literal definition of an artist states that an artist is a person who creates paintings or drawings as a profession or hobby. I beg to differ. In my opinion, everyone is an artist. It doesn’t matter what your means of expression are — being an artist means being creative in whatever way is available for and feels natural to you. One of my favorite art quotes by Pablo Picasso reads,

“Every child is an artist. The problem is how to remain an artist once he grows up.”
