In A Forbidden Tryst, an eighteen-year-old and her stepfather try to deal with the death of their mother and wife. At a moment of weakness and despair, they turn to each other in the night. Then they have not just their grief but also the aftermath of their taboo encounter to deal with.
I enjoyed reading A Forbidden Tryst. The sex is hot, of course. But it's not just sex, like you see in much erotica. There's a real plot. In addition, the author does a good job of depicting the characters. I sometimes read books where a college-age woman sounds like she's in her mid-thirties or older. That wasn't the case here. Not only do Jess's thoughts and actions ring true, but Davis's do as well. And I liked that the author didn't shy away from the consequences of what they did. I tend to like darker, grittier works, so this more realistic look at the fallout from their actions appealed to me.
This book is definitely not for children. But if you're an adult who enjoys taboo subjects and is open to a dose of reality with your fantasy, check out this book.
