Overview

Akira has secrets. But so does the town of Tassamara.

Akira Malone believes in the scientific method, evolution, and Einstein's theory of relativity. And ghosts.

All the logic and reason in the world can't protect her from the truth-she can see and communicate with spirits. But Akira is sure that her ability is just a genetic quirk and the ghosts she encounters simply leftover electromagnetic energy. Dangerous electromagnetic energy.

Zane Latimer believes in telepathy, precognition, auras, and that playing Halo with your employees is an excellent management technique. He also thinks that maybe, just maybe, Akira can help his family get in touch with their lost loved ones.

But will Akira ever be able to face her fears and accept her gift? Or will Zane's relatives be trapped between life and death forever?

Editorial Reviews

Laurie K
Scientist Akira Malone has what one might call a great gift - or a debilitating curse. She can see and communicate with ghosts. Unfortunately, they can also see and communicate with her, and they aren't always gentle about it. Being a medium for the frustrated dead has had some terribly painful results for Akira, thus she hides her abilities from both the living and the dead. ... This book is a damn fine read. I loved it from start to finish and can't wait to read the sequel.

This is a great book to read. It has like 1 sex scene, but its not that detailed. The plot to this story is great. You can easily follow everything that is happening without getting confused and getting characters mixed up. You must read this book.

If you liked Eureka, this book introduces a similarly quirky town where everyone accepts paranormal gifts as the norm. Enjoyed it!

From the first page it kept wanting more! The story line and the way Sarah Wynde writes kept me captivated and wondering what was going to happen next! I can't wait to read the next series of this book "A Gift of Thought." Thank you for making me interested in reading again, and shame on you for intriguing me so I couldn't put it down until I finished it at 2:00 Am in the morning! Even THEN I had to read the sample of the 2nd series of the trilogy!

Loved this book and characters. Romance with touches of paranormal with ghosts as characters.

I like this story, the characters were real even with the gifts they had. I liked the the bit of romance and almost wished it had a different ending but it had the one it did. I would suggest to others to read it.

About 160 pages if story, then author comments and an excerpt of the next book in the series, a total of 184 pages. I usually do not like paranormal books, or romances, but I really liked this one. It could have used more details to fkll it out and make it more interesting. The editing was pretty good. There is violence, steamy sex ( but without lurid details) child abuse of a sort, ghosts, mediums, a very unusual town and ghost buster type activity. There was quite a bit of death and some murder. There was no cursing. There were religous references and a few Bible verses. There is an unwed pregnancy. I really liked learning about trichromatic and tetachomatic eyes. I was unsre if this real or not so I googled it and it is real. How fascinating. The writing was a bit like a young adult book, in feel, but it is not a a YA book. For ages 18 and up because of the sex. Good book, part of a series of four, so far, stand alone. This one is free. AD

This started out good but got a little silly and by the end of the book I started to enjoy it more... I'm not big on romance but this story was well written and didn't get corny like so many others do.

Good story, a little humor & romance. ****spoiler I would have given it a 4, but I thought that she should have known more about ghosts, while I understand she didn't want contact, she could have read & studied about ghosts.

Obviously this book contains ghosts, but if that's not your thing, don't let it keep you from trying this book. The ghosts are actually sweet and endearing for the most part. This was a quick, enjoyable read and the only thing that bothered me was in a five week time lapse in the story between one chapter to another, the MC seemed to become almost a different person in certain aspects - but that didn't really change what the reader could see coming from a mile away in the storyline. For me, this was cozy reading on a Sunday afternoon.

Couldn't put it down. A very unique take on what could have been just another ghost story. Grabs you right from the beginning & gets you interested in the characters. Here's hoping there will be sequels to give the readers more insight into the people - dead & alive- of the quaint little town of Tassamarra.
