This book is sad, funny, irreverent and has a wonderful sense of hope. It's a character-based story, following a wry, cynical girl into womanhood as she explores love, sex, friendship, customer service and all of the weird mishaps that go along with those things. READ IT!!!

This book was loaned to me by a friend and I almost kept it for myself. The story was so real, it served as a welcome alternate to the Stephanie Meyers of the world.

Charlie experiences life in ways that we can all relate to, which is at times unfortunate. And there are times when you want to shake her, but it's the way you want to advise a friend, even though you know your advice can't be heeded.

The best part of this book was it's cross-section of emotion. You'll have a moment that's so sad, you're near tears, but it's also touching and funny and smart. And even the parts which are silly are genuine and worthwhile. Was this review helpful?
