    Definitely Recommend this book

This book was full of handy information. It really does help you feel like you're not alone, but it also helps you to understand that this condition is relatively rare, so don't be surprised if the people you're dealing with (physio, chiro, RMT, sports docs, etc.) haven't seen anyone with this condition.

I've already had a labral tear repair (which was seemingly unsuccessful) so I read this book in preparation for my 3 month post-op meeting with my surgeon. He took me more seriously, and though he had a recommendation that I wait for another 3 months before looking into the PAO, I took charge and asked that he refer me to another doc (as well as see him again). This book helped to empower me to do this.

Personally, I skipped through most of the comments by others going through this situation as well for just the commentary by the authors.

A Guide for Adults with Hip Dysplasia is an incredibly complete

A Guide for Adults with Hip Dysplasia is an incredibly complete resource about hip dysplasia and its treatment in adulthood. Speaking as an adult with hip dysplasia, there isn't a single question I can think of that this book doesn't address. Not only does this illustrated book clearly explain hip anatomy and surgical treatments, it goes beyond the medical context to offer practical advice and emotional support for patients before, during, and after surgery. The authors' friendly tone and the many quotes they've included from patients who have been through treatment really bring this book to life. Thank you Denise and Dr. Sophie for writing this wonderful book. It's a welcome addition to my bookshelf.
