I bought this book because I have its sister ('A Guide to Starwatching') that I like to use as a poor-man's sky chart. This book goes into a lot more detail, but still has limited field value due to the fact it is hard cover. This book belongs in the home, near a chair (or throne) where you can get a little background on a particular area you are interested in. Once you have decided on the area, you will need to consult other references to get more information, etc.
