About the Author

Alice Fryling leads spiritual direction groups in her church. She is a spiritual director, a retreat leader and the author of nine books, including The Art of Spiritual Listening and the bestselling book A Handbook for Engaged Couples.


Robert (Bob) Fryling is publisher of InterVarsity Press and senior vice president of InterVarsity Christian Fellowship. He lives in Illinois with his wife, Alice, an author and spiritual director. Together they have coauthored three books.
