I found it wonderful fun to see where my favorite author started--with this series about Star Svensdotter, space explorer, administrator, and adventurer. Star is an intriguing character, with overtones of Kate Shugak (she may even be related, if I read it right), and the soul of Marco Polo. I'd love to see some more written about her, beyond the three books in this series.

I enjoyed reading this book. the characters were quite believable and the plot was interesting as it was from a female prospective. Rare in sci fi I haven't read the 1st book but will quickly start the 3ed in the series.
