From New York Times and USA Today bestselling author Gemma Halliday:

Web designer Kya Badder is as Plain-Jane as they come. So, when she sees an ad for a impractically gorgeous pair of red heels on Maddie Springer's website, where the model is everything Kya isn't - beautiful, confident and sexy - she can't help buying them. And can't help doing a little strutting around town in them. Suddenly, thanks to her fab footwear, Kya's caught up in a new whirlwind life - a modeling contract of her own, a gorgeous boyfriend, and a life in the fast lane. It's almost as if she's stepped right into that sexy model's life. But when Kya begins having strange dreams and learns that the model died under mysterious circumstances, she learns to be careful what she wishes for, as the killer threatens to strike again.

This was a absolute complete waste of time!

Maddie & Jack are not even in this story. By itself, it would be ok, but not as a part of the High heel set.

Gemma Halliday never lets me down as far as having so many errors that they disrupt and interfere with her good plots. What a shame!!! Does she have any editorial help or proofreaders!!!??? This is a frequent complaint from other reviewers and I knew I was in trouble when I saw TWO sets of transposed letters in the title above Chapter 1 -- haunting spelled as huatning. OMG!!! I have read several of her books because I do enjoy her plots but I may have to give up on her because these typos are so annoying. Mouth was typed as moth, negligee singular was pluralized, compliment was in the wrong form as complement, Riesling was sometimes spelled wrong with the l and the s switched, goner was typed as gonner and this is just a small tip of the iceberg. Then, her timeline was totally messed up -- Kya went to the club on Friday and to the modeling agency the next day Saturday and then was asked out on a date for the next night which would have been AFTER the scheduled Sunday shoot but he was going to give her tips before the shoot -- just an unbelievable, inexcusable mess!!!

Gemma Halliday is becoming a more frequent name on my reading list. Plot is not particularly complex but the characters are enjoyable. A light, enjoyable distraction worth reading.

As with all the High Heels series, I really enjoyed it. This book was different than the rest of the series, in the fact that Maddie (the main character in the others) is just a name in this story. It is also different in the fact that it is more of a paranormal or fantasy. If you enjoy Maddie and Jack and the gang, you'll enjoy these characters! :)

This one of those books I could not put down. Kya had been over looked, until a pair of heels come into her life and now it will not be the same. This book is a keeper and I will re-read it agin!

I am not sure what I expected from this book after reading the Maddie Springer books. The characters are complete opposites, which is good. The story was an interesting one but it was hard because everything seemed to happen in extreme haste. The characters are fun and of course they are sexy and who doesn't love romance!
