Overview

From USA Today Bestselling Author, Cali MacKay...

Rowan Campbell is desperate for answers. She’s lived her life without knowing a thing about her father, her mother refusing to speak of him, even on her deathbed. With her cheating fiancé gone and no one else in her life, Rowan moves to her mother’s hometown in Scotland, determined to find the father she’s never known.

When Angus Macleod agrees to help a family friend move to Scotland from the States, the last thing he expects is to fall hard for the fiery redhead, who makes him rethink his bachelor ways. Looking for any excuse to spend time with Rowan, he’s more than happy to help her find her father, even if she’s skittish about committing to anything serious. But when Angus discovers Rowan’s mother left Scotland pregnant and terrified, he wonders how dangerous Rowan’s quest might be. Before long, Angus finds himself hindering rather than helping, despite knowing his actions could ruin any chance he has for happiness.

With Rowan closing in on her father’s identity, will Angus be able to keep her from harm? And will she ever forgive him for standing in her way?

* This book was previously titled The Search and is Book 2 in the series, though it can easily stand on its own. *

    Worth reading

About 150 pages it was worth the reading. Book two in the series. Angus story was light with a little mystery. Both books had the potential to be flushed out even more.

Not nearly as good as her first book

The first book was free and it was so good that I purchased this one. It was nothing like the first one. I found Rowan to be a cry baby but yet was angry when in the face of danger???? And no Scottish man born and bred would be a kiss-butt... sorry. I found my self skipping paragraphs towards the end just so I can see what the final result to the story was. AND it was only 170 pages.

I read this in one day after loving the first book in the series

I read this in one day after loving the first book in the series. Although Angus was a doll, I didn't enjoy this book as well as the first one. The mystery premise was thin and Rowan just didn't touch my heart. I'm intrigued by Conall being the subject of the next book, although I hope he's not paired with Lara!

I loved this book. Well written and keeps you from page 1 to page 150. This book 300 pages shorter than the 1st book but still as good as Highlander Hope. Will read more by this author. GJRA

Doesn't necessarily require reading Highlanders Hope (the 1st in the series); a good read but doesn't have as much of a mystery as the 1st book. Cute story. Regarding a previous post looking forward to the 3rd in the series... I actually think Conall & Lara would but be an interesting & very entertaining match with lots of fireworks.

Excellent follow up to The Highlander's Hope and this story could stand on it's own without reading the first book. Looking forward to the release of the next story.
