Chapter One

Hi, my name is Abigale. What's your name? I'd like to tell you my story.

I was born down south in Florida. That's where Disneyland is!

My doggie mommy had two babies; me and my sister.

Baby doggies are very tiny; they are called puppies.....

My sister was given to a nice family. This made me sad because I was left all alone. I thought no one wanted me.

One day a nice man and lady came to visit. I thought maybe they would like me and give me a nice home. The nice man held me and the lady was petting me.

I heard them say, "Lets take her with us!"

I was so happy I wanted to jump up and down, but the man wouldn't let go of me.

My new daddy carried me to their car. He put me in my new mommy's arms, and I could tell she liked me a lot. She spoke softly to me and held me like your mommy holds you when you are afraid.

Daddy said to mommy "We should go to the pet store and buy things for the trip home to Pennsylvania."

Penns..... Pennsa. What... I wonder where that is?

Just then daddy said, " We forgot she has no name.... What shall we call her?"

Daddy thought a bit then he said "I like the name Abigale." Yes mommy said, "we can call her Abby." Now I have a family and a new name too!

I'm the happiest puppy in the whole wide world!

We arrived at the pet store and my new parents bought some doggie chews doggie cookies, and a big black bag with handles. I didn't know what the black bag was for.... but all I could think about was getting one of those doggie cookies. Yummy!!!

The next day daddy and mommy packed up the car I heard daddy say "Let's go home to Pennsylvania!" I soon found out what that black bag was for. It was a place to keep me safe during our trip home. The place daddy called Pennsylvania.

On our journey home we would stop now and then. Mommy would feed me and let me pee-pee.

I think mommy and daddy had to pee-pee too!

I would walk around on my leash for exercise. Then back in the car I would go into my black bag and off we would go!.

It's a long looong ride from down Florida to Penna.....Pennsylvania.! I thought when will we get to my new home? How much longer?

Finally one day we stopped in front of my new home. It looked very nice with lots of flowers and lots of green grass. The first thing I did when I got out of the car was. Can you guess? I did pee-pee on that nice green grass. Ah! Now I'm finally home.
