Overview

A Huntsman Spider in My House features a young girl concerned about a Huntsman spider appearing in her room. Rather than react immediately to kill the spider, as commonly taught by society, she finds another way—catching the Huntsman instead and then releasing it outside to let it live and support the ecosystem of Australian fauna. The little girl’s actions show that insects are important, necessary, not so scary, and support the world too.

This was a delightful children's book that even young readers could probably read to themselves or out loud to a parent, grandparent, or friend! What I really enjoyed also was the Huntsman Spider facts on the last page of the story and the coloring page! A pure delight even for us old folks who are young at heart! I particularly enjoyed the endings - here in America I name the spider's in my house and leave them alone knowing they're good at eating other bugs they might find in my home!
