The last book published by R. D. Wingfield, this one showed that he just got better with every book he wrote. He leavens the awful details of crime with humor and the irrepressible personality of Jack Frost, the cop who makes the arrests in the toughest cases. The reader can almost smell the smoke from Frost's ever-present cigarettes, and see the various colorful characters he runs across and through on his way to solving the crimes. If you haven't read any of the Frost books, you're in for a treat. It will make you go back to the first and savor every one.
