Meet the Author

I remember three things growing up: going to church incessantly from a young age (I was in Catholic school, so it made sense), watching Westerns with my dad on Saturdays, and reading The Hobbit.

The Jacob Smith stories are my shot at blending those three themes.

Overall I liked the story idea.... I mean, a knight outside of the medeival period - cool. But the story lacks development of the main character. I felt almost as if i started reading at chapter three instead of at the beginning. His dialogue didn't fit the character either, and added nothing to the story. A templar knight in the service of God and his church, who had a supernatural experience in his monastary, dropping f-bombs? It didn't flow right.

It was a good story but I was wanting more. The character development was strong and fresh leading the reader on but the story ended to quickly with the final blow. I look forward to reading more from author, but not in the form of a short story.

I really enjoyed this story and would really like to see more of Jacob Smith. He was a down to earth, get the job done kind of guy. The ending did stink but I do think it added to the story. Please, Mr. Gabrysch, give me more of Jacob Smith!

This is a great book!! What a unique idea, a Templer Knight in the old west. I look forward to more Templer books, of course before he died.

I wish it didn't end as it had and the 'I was too tired to rewrite it' is such an excuse. If you really love to write, you'll take the time to do it right. Otherwise this book was great. The main character was very interesting and needs a series or backstory, which it says is in the works but isn't available here. Ah, well.

Come on, a knight templar in the old west! What happened, catholic parents hated westerns and wouldn't let you watch?
