It's always been a little bit too easy to compare the Jonas Brothers to their teen pop forefathers Hanson, as they're also an adolescent trio of brothers who play their own instruments and write much of their original material, all rooted in classic guitar pop. Initially, this comparison made sense, as their 2006 debut, It's About Time, bore an unmistakable similarity to Middle of Nowhere, but just two years later when the group delivered its third album, A Little Bit Longer, it was clear that the Jonas Brothers were a pop phenomenon in a way Hanson never were. Of course, the Jonas Brothers were helped immeasurably by the marketing might of Disney, who turned the group's 2006 stiff into the bona fide 2007 hit Jonas Brothers through saturation play on Radio Disney and countless TV appearances, including a guest-starring spot on Hannah Montana. By the time A Little Bit Longer appeared in late summer 2008, the trio's popularity rivaled that of Miley Cyrus, but they were better poised for a cross-generational crossover than the former Ms. Montana, as they had a stronger grounding in classic pop. A Little Bit Longer trades heavily on that foundation, so much so that it seems it was designed to be a teen pop album adults wouldn't be embarrassed to play. All the lingering goofiness of their first two albums has been stripped away -- there are no songs about taking rocket trips to the year 3000 -- along with any ounce of fat, which gives the album a mildly mature vibe, particularly when the power ballads surge toward overly dramatic choruses. Fortunately, this maturity doesn't dominate, as there is plenty of levity here -- most appealingly on the mellow shuffle of "Lovebug" and the good-natured dig at shallow groupies on "Video Girl" -- and as most of the record is devoted to punchy power pop like the addictive opener, "BB Good," A Little Bit Longer winds up with a nice, skillful blend of bubblegum and ballads, never tipping too far in one direction of another. It's a nifty trick that's much harder to pull off than it seems -- countless other teen pop bands have stumbled as they attempt this balancing act that the Jonas Brothers pull off so effortlessly here -- but the key to its success is that it is pitched perfectly between frivolous, disposable pop and meticulous mature craft, so as the Jonas Brothers continue to grow they might wind up losing that sense of fun that is integral to their music, but with this record they hit all the notes just right.
Rolling Stone - Jody Rosen
The boys' fantastic third album is steeped in the fuzzed-up guitars, three-part harmonies and cotton-candy choruses of Big Star and Cheap Trick. Power-pop die-hards awaiting the genre's commercial saviors must reckon with the fact that the messiahs have arrived . . . and they're a Disney boy band.

the jonas brothers an insult to the music industry

it's sad to think that people actually like this. although i admire the jonas brothers for actually going out and making a band unlike other people today that instead just play rock band or guitar hero(and just so that you are not mistaken, i am a teenager, not an adult that is insulting today's generation). this is not good music and i would not recommend the jonas brothers to anyone, but i wouldn't mind if you actually tried to make a band and go somewhere with your lives.

    A Real Winner

Not only is this cd a great choice for my 11-yr-old son, but I think I enjoy it as much as he does. I'm proud of the Jonas Bros. They've created a hit album that is clean, positive, and catchy. These boys have heart, too, as evidenced in their lyrics. What a great example they are setting for our children -- they sing about their feelings, love, regrets, and fears very openly, teaching our children to express their feelings more openly and clearly. And...they do totally rock!

Jonas Brothers - A little bit longer

These songs are absolutely incredible......and for the guys to write them themselves is truly remarkable.

God has blessed us with their talents from writing right down to dancing and entertaining us with their personalities. It's great they each have their own way of giving themselves to their fans and making their fans their priority over anything else.......from what I see they always try to acknowledge their fans instead of completely ignoring them.

Please don't ever stop being who you are and I hope nothing but the best for the brothers and their family..

Is it a bird? Is it a plane? No, it's SUPER ALBUM!!!!!

Now before i say anything i'd like to say that i'm not a super crazy, overly obsessive, tongue-on-the-floor Jonas brothers fan. However, they are a totally amazing band with totally hot guys!! They're music is so fun(although i wish they wrote more dance songs)! i was a microscopicly tiny sized amount disappointed though because this album wasn't as cute and fun as they're previous ones. anywho, super album, super guys, BUY IT

This album is amazing. They have some of their best work on here. &amp quot A Little Bit Longer&amp quot is simply outstanding. it's touching, yet perfect to rock out to. The Jonas Brothers have done it again, but even better this time.

    THE BEST!

I have loved Nick Jonas from the beginning, but now I love them all. This is there best album yet, the songs are well written and sung better. I love the songs BB Good, Lovebug and Video Girl. By the way, the girl in the beginning of Video Girl is Meaghan Jette Martin, the blonde girl in Camp Rock. There songs are a lot funnier too, and very entertaining. Great job Jobros, a great buy!

    A Little Bit Longer!

The Jonas Brothers were seeming to fade away from my mind without having any other hits since Burnin' Up and that was getting a little boring. I hoped and hoped for something new and then this new album came out and I just love it so much! I guess I'll have to LOVE the JoBros a &quot Little Bit Longer!&quot This album is great, it's so clever! I'm sad to think that the song I love so much now is about Nick's diabetes. :(

    Eh....

The Jonas Brothers are no Rolling Stones, but some of their songs are catchy, while they don't make my list of favorite bands, I gave their CD a try, since they've worked hard enough on my opinion to make their music. Sadly, the CD, besides a Little Bit Longer, is nothing but meaningless Disney pop that they've always had. The songs are almost all the same, it's breaking up, making up, wanting someone to like you. Yeah, maybe I should stick to my own cup of tea.
