Landing on a hostile planet is generally regarded as being a bad idea, let alone raiding one. Planets usually have lots of inhabitants who would probably notice the large fireball in the sky and let’s not get into the possibility of sensor arrays, orbital defences and the potentially limitless supply of security forces. Alex Kaidan and his crew know this, but they are convinced that it is worth the risk by a genius called Christian Islam. The prize is the font of Humanity's collective knowledge and some better food that might just make the inhabitants of The Village reconsider resorting to high-tech cannibalism. But Alex stands to learn more than he bargained for when he uncovers a plot to destroy them all.
