A Long and Winding Road - Worth the Journey

I encourage Maureen's fans old and new to invest in a copy or two of the new album "A Long and Winding Road." Some songs are more familiar than others. All songs are just delightful! Maureen does a wonderful job of paying tribute to music that was formational for her and for I'm sure, many of us. The arrangements by Jeff Harris honor the originals yet allow Maureen to put her personal touch on them. Maureen has once again used her beautiful instrument to interpret these songs in a way that breaths new life into the lyrics. Her skill with these songs allows the listener to hear them afresh and walk away with a new sense of their meaning. This is not an album filled with contemporary vocal gymnastics. Rather, it's an album filled with strong, clear and great singing. Because these songs date back to when Maureen first began her career, I am struck by the fact that after all these years, the voice of a young Maureen can be heard while the maturity of her years of experience allow for wonderful shading. It's been a long time since we fans were treated to a full studio album. It was worth the wait. Thank you Maureen!
