Hmmmm, ending could have been better

3/4 of this book was perfection! It was perfect combination of shapeshiftin paranormal and hot as heck sex. The bummer is that the ending of the book was abrupt and a little confusing. I still feel this book is a great sexy read about alpha males and a females desire to submit... # of pages 167

    Saucy Hot Read

"Her destiny was her own to fulfill.." and for Aila Mack that destiny did not include a mate, much less two. Fortunately, or unfortunately depending on who you asked, for Aila she was a much sought after breeder wolf. Packs wanted her fertile womb and men wanted her curvaceous body. Brothers Jack and Kynan Parker have come to realize that the young female shifter they were sent to contact and protect is actually their mate. She's guaranteed to be difficult and they're guaranteed to be determined to claim their own.

Ms. Devlin has penned a gritty little novella that begs the question: what does a female wolf in heat do when she doesn't want a mate but REALLY needs to scratch that itch brought on by a full moon? In the case of Aila and many other eligible females, they turn to the owner of Howl At The Moon to hook them up for a weekend fling with no strings attached.

I'm usually pretty good at creating the characters of a story in my head based on the author descriptions. In the case of A Long Howl Goodnight, Ms. Devlin had the added bonus of a terrific cover that depicts frontal views of the heroes. The models the cover artist picked were perfect and it brought an additional sense of reality to the story. Jack is the brother who is rougher around the edges and it shows in his intensity and gruff demeanor. Kynan is more gentle but no less determined to show Aila that she wants and needs what they can provide, namely safety, security, devotion and hopefully love. Aila has plenty of reason to not trust these men. You'll have to read the book though to see just how her men finally convince her they are worth her surrender.

A Long Howl Goodnight is a part of Ms. Devlin's wildly popular My Immortal Knight series. The plot is well developed as are the characters. This short story may not be long on pages but don't let it fool you. It's jam packed full of tension-filled sexy goodness that will leave you reaching for a fan!
