    an excellent resource/life-changing for girls

'A Look in the Mirror' is an excellent resource for girls who too often do not have the resources to be confident within themselves and with their bodies. The book's conversational tone and hands-on, age-appropriate exercises are wonderful and help girls get control of the negative media images they are forced to contend with on a daily basis. This book is a must for girls, and is a life-changing tool for successful and confident futures. I highly recommend this for any girls in your life!

Where was 'A Look In the Mirror' 40 years ago?!

'A Look In the Mirror' was an easy and wonderful read. It is a practical, workbook- style book that guides teenage girls to look inside themselves and appreciate who they are despite society's lables. It is very thought provoking. It's a shame it wasn't around when I was going through those difficult teen years! It would have enabled me to accept myself and how I look much earlier in my life. A definite important tool for all teenage girls!

    A Great Tool

A must have for those who have young girls or work with them in any capacity. A great workbook which allows girls to explore their thoughts and beliefs as well as, hopefully, challenge the views of media and peers. An insightful tool to help a girl find and then clarify what she believes to be true.

This book helped save my daughter's life

This is one of the most useful books in a topic thats is not touched upon frequently enough. I would recomend this book to all parents of teenage daughters, and to all young girls who are reaching adulthood.

An Excellent Workbook for Kids and Educators

This is a well thought out, well presented edition beneficial to both young people and educators, or anyone working with teens and pre-teens alike. Both thought provoking and insightful, it is a 'must have' for anyone working with young people or those dealing with body image issues today.

Ms. McManus is ahead of her time!

This book is so helpful and informative. It forces young girls to challenge the phony images and ideals that are forced upon us by society. The end result is acceptance and pride about who you are. What a wonderful gift!
