Meet the Author

Kay Springsteen makes her home in Virginia near the Blue Ridge Mountains. In addition to having written five full-length contemporary romance novels and one Regency romance, she works as an editor. When she's not editing or writing, Kay is busy with her hobbies of reading, photography, gardening, hiking in the mountains with one of her rescue dogs, spending time with her terrific family. She is a firm believer in happily ever after endings and knows one is out there for everyone; it just may not be exactly what was expected. Kim Bowman lives in Indiana, where she was born and raised. For the past twelve years, she has been married to her best friend, Tony. She has four wonderful, awesome children. Three she was lucky enough to inherit from her husband and one she was given by the grace of God. They live on a small farm with two of their four kids, five horses, Possum the wonder cat, and Lex the lovable pit bull. Although she has notebooks full of songs, poems, and short stories she has composed, it wasn’t until she started doing technical writing for her job that she really got the bug and decided to take her English professor’s advice and write novels for a living. My daughter loved this book and bought it as a gift for me. I fell in love immediately. I'm so impressed with how this story came to life. All the characters were do distinct and well-developed, even the secondary ones. My only complaint is that I now have to wait for the sequel!

    my kind of love story

The Best kind of story is the kind that warms the soul and makes you feel part of it, and this story gives you this in aces. The flawed characters tug on your heart strings and pull you deeper into the story. Any scene with Uncle Lucien is a laugh a minute.

From the first line, the authors drop you into the story. Wyndham Green is described in such vivid detail as seen through the eyes of a child that I could actually picture it in my mind. I found myself ooooing and aahhhhing right along with Juliet. Through the carefully chosen words, my curiosity was piqued and I wanted to read more. And by the time I got to Chapter Two, I was hooked. Springsteen and Bowman’s crack wit and hilarious secondary characters of Uncle Lucien, Aunt Charity, and Aunt Harmony had me laughing out loud. I found myself wondering what the trio would do next.

And I can’t say enough about the hero, Grey. He was flawed and every bit the man of my dreams all at the same time. And as much detail as the authors paid into building believable characters, they worked just as hard to paint a picture of London and how the nobility (as well as the lower class) lived in Regency England. I could smell the creamed turnips and asparagus tips, the sweaty horse flesh and hay, the roses…I was blown away by the depths and the description and I can’t wait for the next one!And if I thought I was hooked after Chapter 1, when I met Grey, the hero, in Chapter

I thoroughly enjoyed A Lot Like A Lady. It was entertaining and
well-written. I have no idea how two people can write a book together,
but it was seamless. I'm looking forward to the next book by Bowman and Springsteen!

    fun book

This is one that was fun to read. Writing style really pulls you into the times period and is very enjoyable to read. Hard to put down. I look forward to reading more books from Ms. Springsteen and Ms Bowman. Also an added note that I liked the cover picture really helped give a better idea of what the mask was to look like at the dance.

    Review:

"A Lot Like A Lady" By Kay Springsteen and Kim Bowman was like a true story coming to life in this Regency, mystery, historical and romantic setting between Juliet and Grey along with characters that were so well developed and the humorous cast of secondary characters were simply off the chart good. We find this story is in the 19th century English where it seems like everything comes to life in this read. These authors really knew how to present the reader with some well written material that only made this novel a excellent read. This is very interesting read with the maid is pretending to be someone she is not and the Duke fall madly in love with her...and so the story only picks up giving you a very good style of read. I really enjoyed how the authors were able to put together this male's emotional journey for a woman that was outside of his social class. This was simply a fascinating story that will keep you turning pages until the end.

If you like historical romances with some mystery you will enjoy "A Lot Like A Lady." Would I recommend this novel? YES!

If you love Regency romance, this book is for you. Lovely details, engaging characters, in-depth emotions, all woven into a great plot. And I'm not a fan of Regencies. Ha. Gotta admit I loved this.
