    Gives Voice to a Generation

Ace Adonis has a lot to write about, and in A Lot to Write About, he addresses a wide range of topics, using poetry as a medium to express that "Life is filled with millions of/ things and even more." His collection of one-page poems addresses everything from romance to faith, making for a startlingly comprehensive poetic assessment of his young life, positing himself as the voice of his generation.

He offers both life experiences and life lessons, inspiring his readers to rise above those who bring negative vibes into their lives. Penning such phrases as "Use your tools/ that will carry you/ never let nothing/ bury you," and demonstrating that "Experience is Having Insight," the author addresses a wide range of issues that plague our society, from HIV and the failure of parents to raise their children and a generation which seems incapable of saving money. His poignant poems cover the gamut of human emotions, from love and loneliness to sadness, offering poetic perspective, experience, and the ability to find the positive; whether it is wishing luck to an ex or realizing that we are in God's care forever, it's all expressed in verse.

Although this book chronicles the universal emotions of humanity, it is a particularly relevant read for those in their twenties, who can relate to the struggles of his generation, questioning what awaits after college, the trials of relationships, defining their identity and voice, and the toil to "fight every battle/ life throws at me," demonstrating that "that's the only way I'm/ going to ever be happy/ by fighting to win/ and not to lose/and I will go far walking/in my shoes." Ace Adonis effectively gives voice to a generation and emerges as the defining poetic assessment of the world today, treating social issues poetically and teaching and inspiring readers through his words.
