Barnes & Noble - Tracy E. Hopkins
Jumping on the neo-soul bandwagon of fellow Philly fillies Jill Scott and Jaguar Wright is newcomer Vivian Green. In fact, the pleasingly piped Green once sang backup for Scott, and the ingénue's engaging debut is sprinkled with a dash of her former boss lady's jazzy sassiness -- particularly the lead single "Emotional Rollercoaster" and the empowering "Superwoman." Elsewhere, the sultry soprano shines on the piano-heavy, mid-tempo groove "What Is Love?" and the torch song "No Sittin' by the Phone." With sultry vocals that require minimal musical accompaniment and self-penned, girlfriend-ly lyrics, this fresh-faced vocalist will ...

All Music Guide - William Ruhlmann
The neo-soul movement spearheaded by Erykah Badu and Lauryn Hill that gave birth to Jill Scott extended to the likes of India.Arie, Nelly Furtado, and Alicia Keys, with no end in sight as, in typical major-label record company fashion, A&R people beat the bushes for every young woman of color who ever listened to an Aretha Franklin record as a child and thought, "Why not me?" Columbia Records didn't have to look too hard for Vivian Green, a Philadelphia native who was singing backup for Scott, to find yet another contender. Green is a likable enough singer with the usual romantic obsessions and a sense of generalized vocal embellishment. Her lyrics betray the influence of Scott in their wordiness, and a group of producers provide familiar instrumental beds to support those sentiments. But Green is at her best on the largely acoustic "No Sittin' By the Phone," which has a jazz feel and a real sense of romantic anguish.

This Is How It's Supposed To Be!

Vivian Greene brings hope back for R&B. Her voice is unique, soulful, and pure. Her style is compareable to jazz

    The Best Yet

This Soulful singer has what it takes to Win a Grammy i see one in her Future. This Album is great her songs are not the average. Such as take me now, take my clothes off, lets go to bed stuff u would hear on the radio on tv. I bet hear songs won't get play unless she's half naked. But She has my mind and heart and as long as one person likes her shes done her job. THis ALbum is truely a Love STory From beginning to end THanks Vivian Green For the songs and message you've given me.

Ups and Downs of Love...A love Story

The soulful sound of listening to Vivian Green's cd brings peace to my mind. Songs like 24 Hour Blue, Emotional Roller Coaster and Final Hour talk about the bad things about love and life. And Superwomen and No Sittin by phone are about still loving yourself through those times. Songs like Aint Nothing but love and complete and be good to you make you want to be in love all over again. Wishful Thinking and Keep Going On give you hope for life. And to sum up the message of the cd, in the words of Vivian Green herself: "I've learned that when you love yourself, love will find you, and though hurdles will come, no dream is unreachable. This is my story...A Love Story."

    INCREDIBLY DELIGHTFUL SOUL MUSIC

I've been listening to the radio a few months ago & heard the song "rollercoaster" and how amaze was I to hear that the words were so true. Needless to say, I couldn't wait to buy her album and let me tell you that was a great investment, I just can't stop playing the C.D. and I bought another very well known artist C.D. @ the same time and I am definitely enjoying Miss Greens C.D. the best. Love it, it's peaceful listening.

This is one of the best new artists

When I first heard Ms. Green's single "Emotional Rollercoaster", I was shocked at how a new artist's song was so high in the countdown on my city's radio station. I love the song and the lyrics can relate to anyone. I hope she will keep up the great work and try to win a couple of big awards.
