"Delicious and intriguing, A Lush Betrayal lured me into its web of sexy mysteries and rock star secrets from the first page." - NYT and USA Today Bestselling Author Lauren Blakely

Joss Jamison has it all. He's the lead singer for the world's hottest rock band, Lush. He's wealthy, sexy, talented...and miserable. Twelve months ago, Joss lost his finely honed control and made a mistake he can't undo. A mistake that could end up costing him his best friend, his band, and maybe his heart.

Mel DiLorenzo has it all. She's been hired to document the world tour of her sister's fiance's rock band. She's gorgeous, talented, loved...and sick of being the little sister. When she agrees to the summer job, Mel has no idea she's walking into a minefield of friendships lost and hearts destroyed. She also has no idea what it means to be the object of Joss Jamison's affections.

One hot rock star plus one life-altering mistake, add a dash of sexy younger sister and a handful of broken hearts, and you've got a recipe for fire. Life on the road can be hot, but for the boys of Lush, it's about to get a whole hell of a lot hotter.

“¿Welcome to rock and roll, baby.’" 4.5 Rockin' Stars 27 year old Lush front man Joss Jamison’s life just isn’t going right. His A/C is broke, he’s being showered with thongs thrown at his head, and he can’t get himself out of the funk he’s been in since his big “betrayal.” Mel DiLorenzo, 24, isn’t fairing much better. She’s been screwed over by her professor (literally) and her graduate career is in jeopardy. Lucky for her, her sister’s fiance is a member of Lush, and Tammy is the unofficial manager. Tammy sets Mel up with a sweet photography gig documenting the famous band for their summer tour. It could be just what she needs to salvage her photojournalism career except two things quickly become apparent—the gig may or may not be so sweet with tensions running high among the band mates and there’s the attraction she feel towards Joss, one that is not sanctioned by her big sister.  Joss meanwhile used to think he was in love with Tammy, but one night that still haunts him and one look at her sister later, and Joss has a new set of feeling to face. This is a very well written rock band story that not only follows the pairing (through alternating 1st person POV) of Mel and Joss, but also the woes of the band after years of touring, fame, and problems of substance abuse have taken their toll. Joss Jamison is the gem of the book as the lead singer with a tortured soul, tired of notoriety and full of self-loathing after a one night hook up with his best friend’s girlfriend while Walsh was in rehab. Joss, struggling to come to terms with his betrayal, soon discovers that Mel is a new light to his darkened world of guilt and loneliness. But the secret of his and Tammy’s indiscretion looms over their heads. Meanwhile, Mel has her own embarrassing baggage. I really felt bad for the way Joss absorbed way more of the blame than Tammy and yet it took two to tango. Tammy was most definitely not my favorite person. I also felt there had to be more flaws in Tammy and Walsh’s relationship (that Joss viewed as so perfect) which first lead Walsh to drink and then Tammy to stray. But Walsh and Tammy get their own story in the sequel, For the Love of a Lush. Can Joss and Mel attempt a relationship without causing further conflict and turmoil among the band?  How will Joss react when he learns Mel’s secret? Will Mel get caught in the crossfire when Joss and Tammy’s secret is exposed? A Lush Betrayal has a well developed and well paced plot, solid characterization, no cliffhanger, and a HEA. There is plenty of sexual tension between Joss and Mel, and Joss definitely rocks the sexy factor.

A Lush Betrayal is a beautiful story and beautifully written. I absolutely loved this book! It's hot and sexy and fun and funny. The characters are amazing and the storyline is oh so gripping. Once I started reading it, I just couldn't put it down. I couldn't get enough of Joss and Mel and all of their passion and drama. This is one series that I will definitely be continuing. I can't wait to find out what happens next!

Wow – I’m not sure where to even begin with this review. There was so much going on in this story it’s hard to know where to start. This is a story of betrayal, it’s a story of hope, it’s a story of hitting rock-bottom and pulling yourself back up on your feet, and it’s a story of love. When Joss meets the grow-up version of Mel DiLorenzo, he doesn’t know what hits him. Mel has been hired to do a photo-documentary of Joss’s band Lush, and is travelling with the band during their summer tour. Although Mel’s sister Tammy, who is also the band’s manager and engaged to Walsh, the band’s bassist, has warned her to stay away from Joss, Mel can’t fight the very strong feelings and attraction between her and Joss. And once Mel & Joss begin their affair, it soon becomes apparent that their relationship is so much more than a fling. Unfortunately, the past always has a way of catching up with you, and when secrets are revealed, relationships and friendships are tested beyond the breaking point, and no one is left standing. This story was filled with lots of angst, but balanced by the promise that love can heal the wounds that have scarred you from the past. Watching Joss realize that Mel is it for him, she’s the anchor that will keep him grounded, was wonderful. Mel has been taken care of by her sister Tammy her whole life, and when push comes to shove regarding her relationship with Joss, it was fun to watch her come into her own and stand up to Tammy, but then being Tammy’s rock when she needed it. I really enjoyed this book and liked the fact that the story focused on so much more than the excesses of a rock star life. Although Walsh has recently completed a stint in rehab, the story focused more on the relationships between the band members and Tammy & Mel than the episodes of destructive behavior. I was left kind of hanging with the ending, but am happy to see that Tammy & Walsh will be getting their own story. I was given a copy of this book by the author for an honest review.

Saw this book as part of a give away and it caught my interest. I like how it starts with drama right away in both Joss and Mel's lives. The guilt and fear of betrayal is an underlying theme for some of the characters while a relationship tries to develop out of everything that is going on. When I thought it is was going to go one way, it goes in a different direction and I liked that about a book. I do think tha Joss was being selfish with Tammy and he really didn't think of the consequences that his actions caused. I'm happy that things worked out for one couple and am looking foward to the next book to see how things work out for the other couple.

I don't leave many reviews, but something about "A Lush Betrayal" changed my mind, maybe it was my support for Joss and Mel, maybe it was the whole photo essay thing, maybe it was the suspense on how Joss and Tammy deal with ther demons that has you clinging to your seat... put it all together and you have a pretty solid book (for free, I might add). The book was structured very well- the chapters were a good length, the WC was nice, and although it was relatively short (which I typically have a problem with, a free Nook Book or not), it fit the story just fine so no complaints here. Also, the more intimate scenes were surprisingly, hmm... Okay, they don't make you feel like you're reading straighg from a porn magazine (which is why I SHOULD'VE given the book 5 stars), but they're still a bit graphic. Even so it was a nice change of pace. For me at least. I get that a lot of people read these kind of books strictly for sex scenes but I'm not really about that. It was there, just not as frequent, so if you read romance specifically for sex than I doubt you'll like this one very much, but if you're more like me, then eyy this is a pretty good book haha. It's evident that the author's true intentions were pertaining to the actual story behind it so I'm grateful for that. Anyhow it was a pretty nice read. I'd recommend it~

I enjoyed this book very much. Would have liked a better ending but hopefully that will be provided in the reunion book yet to come out.

I thought the book went to quickly with the characters. I didn't feel the growing relationship or even the hatred between some of them. The only reason I knew is because it said it in the end. I understand there is other books in the story but with different characters. I think Joss and Mel's ending was horrible. I really felt like their story wasn't over quite yet. I just seemed to end very suddenly. I felt like there was more to their story that wasn't written.

A Lush Betrayal by Selena Laurence is a really good read.  It gives a different perspective, and some unique twists and turns to a Rock-N-Roll love story.  Joss and Mel go thru so much, seriously, chapter 34 nearly ended me.  It was so tragic and so terrific.  I am looking forward to more from this series.  I love all the characters and hope the series brings us closer to the other band members.
