"Delicious and intriguing, A Lush Betrayal lured me into its web of sexy mysteries and rock star secrets from the first page." - NYT and USA Today Bestselling Author Lauren Blakely

Joss Jamison has it all. He's the lead singer for the world's hottest rock band, Lush. He's wealthy, sexy, talented...and miserable. Twelve months ago, Joss lost his finely honed control and made a mistake he can't undo. A mistake that could end up costing him his best friend, his band, and maybe his heart.

Mel DiLorenzo has it all. She's been hired to document the world tour of her sister's fiance's rock band. She's gorgeous, talented, loved...and sick of being the little sister. When she agrees to the summer job, Mel has no idea she's walking into a minefield of friendships lost and hearts destroyed. She also has no idea what it means to be the object of Joss Jamison's affections.

One hot rock star plus one life-altering mistake, add a dash of sexy younger sister and a handful of broken hearts, and you've got a recipe for fire. Life on the road can be hot, but for the boys of Lush, it's about to get a whole hell of a lot hotter.

¿¿Welcome to rock and roll, baby.¿" 4.5 Rockin' Stars 27

“¿Welcome to rock and roll, baby.’"

    4.5 Rockin' Stars

27 year old Lush front man Joss Jamison’s life just isn’t going right. His A/C is broke, he’s being showered with thongs thrown at his head, and he can’t get himself out of the funk he’s been in since his big “betrayal.”

Mel DiLorenzo, 24, isn’t fairing much better. She’s been screwed over by her professor (literally) and her graduate career is in jeopardy. Lucky for her, her sister’s fiance is a member of Lush, and Tammy is the unofficial manager. Tammy sets Mel up with a sweet photography gig documenting the famous band for their summer tour. It could be just what she needs to salvage her photojournalism career except two things quickly become apparent—the gig may or may not be so sweet with tensions running high among the band mates and there’s the attraction she feel towards Joss, one that is not sanctioned by her big sister.  Joss meanwhile used to think he was in love with Tammy, but one night that still haunts him and one look at her sister later, and Joss has a new set of feeling to face.

This is a very well written rock band story that not only follows the pairing (through alternating 1st person POV) of Mel and Joss, but also the woes of the band after years of touring, fame, and problems of substance abuse have taken their toll.

Joss Jamison is the gem of the book as the lead singer with a tortured soul, tired of notoriety and full of self-loathing after a one night hook up with his best friend’s girlfriend while Walsh was in rehab. Joss, struggling to come to terms with his betrayal, soon discovers that Mel is a new light to his darkened world of guilt and loneliness. But the secret of his and Tammy’s indiscretion looms over their heads. Meanwhile, Mel has her own embarrassing baggage.

I really felt bad for the way Joss absorbed way more of the blame than Tammy and yet it took two to tango. Tammy was most definitely not my favorite person. I also felt there had to be more flaws in Tammy and Walsh’s relationship (that Joss viewed as so perfect) which first lead Walsh to drink and then Tammy to stray. But Walsh and Tammy get their own story in the sequel, For the Love of a Lush.

Can Joss and Mel attempt a relationship without causing further conflict and turmoil among the band?  How will Joss react when he learns Mel’s secret? Will Mel get caught in the crossfire when Joss and Tammy’s secret is exposed?

A Lush Betrayal has a well developed and well paced plot, solid characterization, no cliffhanger, and a HEA. There is plenty of sexual tension between Joss and Mel, and Joss definitely rocks the sexy factor.

Saw this book as part of a give away and it caught my interest. I like how it starts with drama right away in both Joss and Mel's lives. The guilt and fear of betrayal is an underlying theme for some of the characters while a relationship tries to develop out of everything that is going on. When I thought it is was going to go one way, it goes in a different direction and I liked that about a book. I do think tha Joss was being selfish with Tammy and he really didn't think of the consequences that his actions caused. I'm happy that things worked out for one couple and am looking foward to the next book to see how things work out for the other couple.

Wow – I’m not sure where to even begin with this review. There was so much going on in this story it’s hard to know where to start. This is a story of betrayal, it’s a story of hope, it’s a story of hitting rock-bottom and pulling yourself back up on your feet, and it’s a story of love.

When Joss meets the grow-up version of Mel DiLorenzo, he doesn’t know what hits him. Mel has been hired to do a photo-documentary of Joss’s band Lush, and is travelling with the band during their summer tour. Although Mel’s sister Tammy, who is also the band’s manager and engaged to Walsh, the band’s bassist, has warned her to stay away from Joss, Mel can’t fight the very strong feelings and attraction between her and Joss. And once Mel & Joss begin their affair, it soon becomes apparent that their relationship is so much more than a fling. Unfortunately, the past always has a way of catching up with you, and when secrets are revealed, relationships and friendships are tested beyond the breaking point, and no one is left standing.

This story was filled with lots of angst, but balanced by the promise that love can heal the wounds that have scarred you from the past. Watching Joss realize that Mel is it for him, she’s the anchor that will keep him grounded, was wonderful. Mel has been taken care of by her sister Tammy her whole life, and when push comes to shove regarding her relationship with Joss, it was fun to watch her come into her own and stand up to Tammy, but then being Tammy’s rock when she needed it.

I really enjoyed this book and liked the fact that the story focused on so much more than the excesses of a rock star life. Although Walsh has recently completed a stint in rehab, the story focused more on the relationships between the band members and Tammy & Mel than the episodes of destructive behavior. I was left kind of hanging with the ending, but am happy to see that Tammy & Walsh will be getting their own story.

I was given a copy of this book by the author for an honest review.

This book sucked me in from the beginning. I loved the characters and of course, I am always up for reading about hot rockers! This was much more than just a typical rock star love story. This book went to the heart of what betrayal can do to people, even when that betrayal stems from the ravages of addiction.

Joss & Mel are great characters and their love story was touching. Joss had thought he had loved before but realized that he had never felt the way he felt for Mel. The relationship between Joss & Mel's sister was a source of tension throughout the book. This book delved into what impact Joss's best friends alcoholism and recovery had on Joss. It showed how poor choices during stressful times can haunt you for much longer than you could ever expect.

The author does a great job of having you feel the emotions of these characters. This is a great book with all kinds of emotions running through it. I loved the book and can't wait for the Lush #2. Five stars! Oh....it is also on sale for .99 until April 23rd, so treat yourself today!

    Incredible......
Joss Jamison is lead singer for Lush one of the hottest bands in the country. He just can't escape the loneliness he has inside even with all the people around him.

Mel DiLorenzo, little sister of Tammy DiLorenzo engage to Joss' best friend and band mate Walsh goes on the road with the band for the summer to photograph the band and concerts. Joss finally finds someone that helps him not feel so lonely all the time and someone who he can just relax around.

Except for one secret he is holding. He knows if this gets out it will destroy his best friend and possibly the band, not to mention his hopes of Mel staying with him.

I loved reading this book. Getting to know the band members and getting to know how each handle the celebrity. This is the first in the Lush series and now I can't wait for the nextd

A LUSH BETRAYAL is a brilliantly written story by Selena Laurenc

A LUSH BETRAYAL is a brilliantly written story by Selena Laurence about the members of the rock band LUSH who are lifetime friends that are silently being torn apart by a lone act of betrayal committed in a moment of pain and vulnerability. An event that was not meant to cause pain, but should not have happened and can not be taken back. An event so regretful that it is tormenting and poisoning those that feel they must keep the secret to protect the others they love deeply from even worse pain. I can only say I loved everything about this deep, heart-wrenching, intense and multi-layered story. It ran me through the gamut of emotions and kept my interest on every single page.

On the outside, Joss Jamison, the gorgeous, talented and drop-your-panties sexy lead singer and the driving force of the band LUSH is every woman's dream. He definitely has the irresistibly charming, cocky, sex-on-a-stick bad boy vibe down and can have any woman he wants in his bed. On the inside, he feels like he is slowly dying. The guilt of his actions is a like a poison he willingly accepts even as it slowly destroys all his joy for life, and especially for the life expected of a rock star. Joss was not alone in his betrayal, but for much of the story he and everyone else seems to be okay with letting him take the full blame and shame for what happened (this was the one gripe about the book that made me rant out loud a few times at his so-called friends). Ms. Laurence does an incredible job of letting the reader into Joss's regret, despair, anguish and protectiveness that it's impossible not to love him, to root for him, and to pray he finds forgiveness and peace to get past this. He is a good man and has been a loyal and faithful friend his whole life. He deserves happiness despite the mistake he made.

The story begins with the band about to begin a world tour. Lush's manager hires Melanie DiLorenzo, a photo journalist and videographer to accompany the band on their summer tour at the urging of her older sister Tammy. Tammy has been Walsh, the bass player's girlfriend since they were all fourteen and Joss, Walsh and the lead guitarist, Mike, were just starting up the band. For the last thirteen years she has traveled with the band, expediting and facilitating their needs on the road. Their drummer, Colin, has been with the band almost as long. She and these four men are a family of brothers (and sister) who have grown up together, had each other's back and kept each other grounded, through the lean times as well as the riches and fame.

Mel, who through Tammy, has known Lush almost all her life, but never spent much time actually with them. She has always had a bit of a fangirl crush on Joss, but for the moment she's sworn off men. Especially bad boys who have a history of nothing but VERY short term relationships, like Joss, who are certain to break her heart. She is dealing with unexpected ramifications of a poorly thought-out relationship and breakup that has brought consequences to her future she never imagined and has shaken her confidence to her core. She is very excited about the exposure this opportunity will bring to her career since she is just finishing her MFA and doesn't want to do anything to screw it up.

Despite Joss's state of mind, and debatable past of man-whoring ways, he is hit like a ton of bricks when Mel joins the tour. She is like a beacon of sunshine into his dark world and he can't stay away from her. He doesn't even try, he recognizes the emotional connection and that he needs her, that she is meant for him and pursues who regardless of the additional animosity it adds to the already strained relationship of his band. Tammy especially does not trust him with her baby sister and does everything she can to undermine him getting close to Mel. Because I was 100% team Joss, I didn't like Tammy much, but I have to say Ms. Laurence again does a remarkable job of writing the depth of all these characters and I couldn't truly begrudge Tammy her motivations.

Mel is falling just as deeply in love with Joss as he is with her, but she really tries does try to fight it. The circumstances were complicated and the emotions were all over the place. I admired Mel, she kept true to herself. She didn't let anyone else make her decisions for her. She stood her ground, fighting for what she wanted. Yet, she wasn't jaded like the others, a true breath of fresh air and an innocent in this drama. The passion she and Joss created was seductive, steamy, and loving. Never just sex, not that it wasn't hot, because OMG!!! The progress of their relationship and feelings for one another was masterfully written. A perfect love story. I hung on every scene when the two of them were together because they literally sparked. And not always in a pleasant way, but always in an intense way which relayed the depth of their emotional bond. I loved them together and hoped they'd have their HEA right up to the end!

This story is more than a true love romance between two people. It is about the consequence of actions on the lives around you. A reminder that some things can never be taken back and you should choose your actions wisely. Because when the betrayal between these friends comes out the tightness of their lifetime bond makes no difference. Their world unravels and completely tears them all apart. The secret revealed leaves a destruction that was painful to read because Ms. Laurence has made you love them all and feel their pain as if it were your own. So yes, I cried reading this book, but I also laughed. Many times. The wit and dialogue was real and brilliantly written. Do not miss out on this book. Do not miss out on this series! Selena Laurence has earned her place firmly on my must-buy author list with this incredible story. I rate this book 4.5 stars but only because it pissed me off how Joss took on all the responsibility and consequences of what happened too often, lol!

***I received a copy of this book in exchange for an honest review.***

Joss Jamison is the smouldering hot, lead singer of Lush. A rock band on the their way to the very top. He is offered everything and generally takes it, with little thought of repercussions. It's exactly this problem that has made his life turn upside down. After 1 mistake that should never have happened he is living with the guilt every second of every day. Lush is off on tour over summer and in comes Mel, she's there to document the tour through photographs and their life behind the scenes. She's the sister of Tammy, the drummer Walsh's fiancée. Mel is gorgeous and spirited, and like a breath of 'fresh air' to Joss. He knows he wants her and has to have her. She is making him crazy. Yet, who she is...Is a problem in so many ways. A fresh stab of guilt and pain but at the same time new feelings for Mel.
To start with I thought this is going to be an easy breezy read. It absolutely was. Smooth and great pace. I loved the setting of the rock band on tour, another bad boy to drool over. Yet beneath all that, lies a tangled web of emotion and secrets all swirling around waiting to eat people up and come out and cause chaos. When things got good, I just knew it was coming, the 's*** was going to hit the fan'.
So about 3/4's of the way through, things start to change. One of the party involved in all the mess ends up in a nasty situation and by then I must admit I was already chewing my nails, holding my breath, AND holding back the floodgates. It was quite hard work! From there on everything tumbles down, a perfect wall crumbling down on top of itself. Nobody is spared in the mess, everyone is left hurt and wounded. I was left blubbing! (Not pretty) Yet after all this, things have to start from fresh and try to be fixed. Clean slates and all that. In some twisted way of thinking I think it was meant to be and for the best. Amazing ending, really perfect. I was left a mess but smiling through my snotty mess. :) hands down can't wait for book 2.

I think most of us like Rock Star books because we have had our own crushes on Rock Stars and these books feed on that fantasy. That being said, this was not your typical Rock Star book. I loved the twist Laurence added to the book. We become privy to the "betrayal" very early on, but I thought Laurence did a great job of showing how this played out. I liked they way we were given different perspectives without it becoming confusing. I liked that it also wasn't a how I got to be a Rock Star, the band was already famous when the story begins. I thought Joss and Mel were very likable and I found myself cheering for them to get their Happy For Now. I enjoyed getting to know the different characters and I am looking forward to the next book in the series to see how Walsh and Tammy work through their issues. If you are looking for a book with characters that are well written and you like a story that is a little different and sometimes steamy, I recommend A Lush Betrayal.

Selena Laurence gives you a new twist on the rock and roll roman

Selena Laurence gives you a new twist on the rock and roll romance. Joss is the perfect lead singer, front man and business man for the band Lush but when you peel back the curtain you find out that appearances are very deceiving. A rash decision one night leads to a betrayal that he struggles to deal with. Enter Melanie DiLorenzo, photo journalist signed on to document the band's latest tour. Mel doesn't fall at Joss's feet like all the other women, she speaks her mind and doesn't take any of his crap.

Joss, on the surface he seemed like the typical rock star, always in control as he created and delivered the music he wanted for the fans. What he is hiding is a betrayal that, I think, took him by surprise when it happened. Having betrayed his best friend and family, this sends he world off kilter and Joss doesn't really know how to get it back. Enter Melanie DiLorenzo, she becomes the official videographer for the band and sparks something in Joss that he hasn't felt in years. I love how Mel pushes back at Joss and doesn't let him pull his BS with her. He needs someone like this in his life, the question is will he allow himself this happiness? Will others let him be happy?

The ending was fabulous and fit Joss and Mel perfectly. Truly, not what you expect with a rocker story which made this a wonderful surprise. Looking forward to Walsh and Tammy's story next.

Selena Laurence really lets us get to know the characters, what drives them, past pains, and future hopes. This is my first read by this author but it won't be my last. I hope everyone gives this one a chance you'll be happy you did. Highly recommended.

A copy of A Lush Betrayal was provided by the author in exchange for an honest review.

Betrayal. It's the most heart wrenching word in the English language. The consequences of living with betrayal are physical, mental and emotional. Like acid eats through stone, the guilt of living with his betrayal is slowly destroying Joss Jamison's life. Just when he begins to think that despair is going to overtake his life Joss meets Melanie DiLorenzo, and it's like the sun has broken through the clouds after a rainy day. Never before has Joss felt such a deep emotional connection to a woman, and by some miracle, Melanie seems to be falling just as deeply in love with Joss as he is with her. But heaven can not be fully captured on earth, and the fear of his sins being discovered continue to cast a shadow, no matter how deeply Joss tries to bury the memory, some things can never be forgotten.

A Lush Betrayal is the story of Joss Jamison, lead singer of Lush, the hottest rock and roll band to hit the music scene since Pearl Jam changed the face of rock and roll to become the most popular American band of the '90s.

Supremely well written and expertly edited, the cast of characters includes fellow band members Mike, Colin and Walsh. The four men have been together since forming the band in high school. More like brothers than friends, their complex relationships with each other add a deeper layer of emotional turmoil to a story that is already guaranteed to keep you on the edge of your seat.

Tammy DiLorenzo, older sister to Mel and Walsh's high school sweetheart, is the glue that hold the four band members together while on tour.

Dave Keller, the manager that has been with them since the Lush's early days, is helpless to do anything other than watch the band and it's members slowly begin to fall apart. As Joss's betrayal, which is not as secret as he originally believed, begins to eat away at them all.

A Lush Betrayal is more than the story of a rock and roll band and their turbulent rise to fame. It's more than the story of a perfect love growing between two flawed beings. What this story is about is human nature. It draws readers down to the deepest depths of despair, allows us to ride along on the tail of a shooting star, and showcases the strength of will and spirit of hope that enables even the most damaged of souls to rise like a phoenix from the ashes of life's greatest failures.

This is a must-read work of pure heart that dares to go beyond boy-meets-girl and tackle life is really about. If I could give it more than 5 stars, I would.

I cannot possibly explain how fan-freakin-tastic this book is! I gulped it down in basically one day because I couldn't put it down and it has it all! An ultra-sexy, tortured, yet believable hero, the beautiful heroine who isn't simpering and is learning to stand on her own two feet and live with her own mistakes, a wonderful cast of well rounded secondary characters, well-crafted conflict, off-the-charts sexual chemistry...I'm telling you, Selena didn't miss a beat. The rock 'n roll band thing is important but secondary. It's a true love story, a story of forgiveness and forgiving yourself, and redemption. Some of my favorite books are Real and Lick and I definitely feel that Lush is right up there with those...a must read for lovers of this genre!

I received an ARC from the author in exchange for my honest review, so here it is. The story of Joss Jamison and his betrayal of his friends is eating him alive. It has destroyed his friendship with Walsh, who is like a brother, and Tammy, Walsh's girlfriend since they were 14 years old. Walsh and Tammy are Joss's family for more years than he can count. And after his mother died and Walsh goes through rehab, Joss is fighting his despair and the betrayal that keeps his world in the dark. That is until Melanie walks into his world. Mel is Tammy's younger sister, and Joss sees the light he is searching for. Can Mel help Joss to move from the darkness into the light? Will Joss's betrayal keep eating him alive or will it be revealed? Will the band and members of Lush survive when the betrayal is revealed? This is a perfect story that will tear out your heart and having you crying. I was crying so hard, I had to stop reading and walk away until I calmed down. There are not many stories that get to me like this one. The last one was The Edge of Never by J.A. Redmerski. This book has ripped my heart out and Selena has put it back together. Another great story by Selena Laurence and I can't wait for more.

I received and ARC in exchange for an honest review. Selena Lau

I received and ARC in exchange for an honest review.

Selena Laurence does it yet again! She has a way of pulling you into her story and she doesn't let go until she's done. She does such an amazing job connecting you to the characters, that you forget that they aren't real live people.

Joss Jamison is this gorgeous rock star with women falling at his feet, but Joss doesn't see them. He's to busy living with regret and letting it tear him apart from the inside. A year ago he betrayed his best friend Walsh, and he knows that once it gets out (as he knows that it eventually will) it will destroy all the relationships that means the most to him. Throughout the story you feel Joss's pain for what he had done and how he copes with it. He has to be in control of everything around him since he can't seem to control his emotions. The way he sees his life starts to change after Mel DiLorenzo aka Little D, walks back into their circle of friends.

Mel has been offered a job by her sister Tammy, that's beyond her wildest dreams. She's been hired to do a documentary during Lush's tour, but there was no way she could have known what she was walking into.

Mel remembers Joss from when they were younger, he was the quiet and brooding wanna be rocker that was sexy as hell. She can tell that nothing has changed, well except he is a lot sexier than he was back then. She still feel the attraction, but never thought that he would feel the same.

Joss and Mel both feel that there is something deep and serious between them, but they have so many things that are in their way. Even though they are able to have a few months of happiness together, what ends up happening once Joss's betrayal is finally brought to light?

Will Lush and all the members be able to survive this? What happens to Mel and Joss?

You HAVE TO read this book to see find the answers to those questions, well and just because the book is amazing. I can't wait to read Lush #2 to find out what happens with Walsh and Mel's sister Tammy!

This was an incredible book that I could not put down. One night

This was an incredible book that I could not put down. One night of emotional turbulence sets the stage for secrets, lies and betrayal that eats away at souls and has the ability to destroy loves. The author takes you on a journey with such compassion and attention to character development that you feel each characters joy, anger, love, hate and regret as everything unravels! I have never read any of Selena Laurence's books before but I am definitely hooked on this series and it author.
