Pig headed wounded heroes… do they ever learn? Having read the first in the Wiccan Haus series, I came prepared to experience a blend of humans and paranormals congregating in a house of healing to soothe their hurts whether spiritual or physical. A Man Worth Fighting For delivers on both counts. There are the regular residents of the Wiccan Haus adding their charismatic characters to the story of course but more importantly, we have the story of a woman going after the man who left her with no warning and no explanation, a woman not willing to except things at face value. Sergeant Justin Lawson’s life in the military has come to a screeching halt. A bullet to the kneecap has ended his career and severed him from the only family he has ever known, the military family he has built with his specialized para military team. Feeling unworthy as a cripple and most definitely a threat to Holly’s life with a traitor after him, Justin sends her a cryptic text ending their yearlong relationship. “I don’t want to see you anymore. Sorry.” Eight short words to dash all of her dreams. Holly Walters has tried for three long weeks to run Justin down and get an explanation for his cryptic words, but Justin remains elusive. To rub salt in her wounds she has to deal with family expectations that she couldn’t possibly be happy without a man and children in her life. With one more failed attempt to contact him, Holly puts her tenacity to work. Calling the military base, she starts wheedling her way through the ranks in order to figure out just where Justin is and what is going on. Finally, she meets with a bit of success. Holly discovers that Justin is at the Wiccan Haus. Reluctantly, she heads to the island to get some closure. Things may be a bit rocky between the two but the chemistry that has always been there has not deserted them. It’ll take some doing to get past feelings of inadequacy, to heal the pains of the flesh as well as those of the soul. The journey is fraught with just a bit of danger and uncertainty. However, the magic that is the Wiccan Haus will prevail. This was a great story of just how far a gal will go for a man worth fighting for. I would recommend it to anyone who is into military or paranormal romance. I was gifted this book in exchange for an honest review.

My Thoughts - 4 out of 5 Unicorns - I really liked it!!! ***Received a copy of the ebook for an honest review The cover is okay, but nothing screams paranormal that would grab my attention. It does have the sexy military man on the cover though :) This is the 2nd book in the Wiccan Haus series. It is a novella about 90 pages long. It is definitely for adults only due to the steamy content. You do not have to read the books in order to understand or enjoy the book because they are standalone. And just in case you are not aware, this is a multi-author series. This book is about Justin who is a hurt military man who goes into hiding because he doesn’t know who is after him, and Holly is the woman he dumped before he went into hiding. There is plenty of action and drama. I just wish there would have been more to the paranormal elements of the story. Holly and Justin are both human. Book 1 is still my favorite so far, but I look forward to seeing if any of these talented authors can change my mind :) Can’t wait to see what is next in the series!! I recommend this story readers who enjoy romances with some paranormal and military elements :)

A Man Worth Fighting For by Sara Daniel is the second book in the Wiccan Haus series written by a group of authors. Shot by a member of his elite military team, Justin Lawson has broke it off with his girlfriend and taken his broken body and soul to Wiccan Haus. Holly Walters refuses to accept Justin's choice to end it and follows him. Putting herself in danger. This book is full of intrigue, heat, adventure, unexpected surprises and a dangerous enemy. It has a good pace and is well written with a story that is believable and a treat to experience. The heat between Justin and Holly is steamy and hot. The interactions between the couple is often times heated, exciting and leaves you wanting more. This book is a good read for sure. Great follow up to the first Wiccan Haus book. Loved that the hero and the Heroine were magical but humans in a magical place. Nice change.

There was a lot to enjoy in this second novella of the series by an author I haven't read before. Although the hero and heroine are both human, the setting and mix of characters keeps it paranormal (and consistent with the excellent first book, Shifting Hearts), as does the wonderful healing magic. I really appreciated the inclusion of Holly's love being part of that magic, as well as Justin's attitude. They were a great couple. I don't usually like stories where the heroine pursues the hero, but it was so well done that I found it really worked for me. The romance is warm and fuzzy, the love scenes hot and enviable. There was danger and action, too. Will be starting the next one, An Apple Away, tonight!

I don’t have any experience reading a series where every book is not written by the same author, so I wasn’t sure what to expect compared to the first book. I was pleasantly surprised! The setting felt consistent with what was set up in book 1, and the staff from the first one were present and still rang authentic. We even get a few cameo appearances from Mr. sexy were-tiger himself, Rekkus, from the first one. Now in this story, Justin gets hurt on a mission and the person that did it is still at large, so thinking he’s keeping her safe, as well as not getting in too deep with her, he texts Holly to break up with her. Yeah what a jerk, right? A girl’s gotta have more closure than that, so she tracks his ass down! Holly not letting him get away with a short little text as a breakup really made my day. Ok so the sex scenes helped quite a bit too. I had two problems with this story though. One, Justin was ridiculously stubborn and a bit hypocritical. I wanted to reach into the book and slap him at times for being such a jerk, plus he was a little depressing at times. Two, the overall plot was a little shaky. The villain was ultimately after someone else, but Justin was supposedly a threat and in the way, but after being hurt and in the vicinity of the ultimate target, I can’t help but think how silly it was that Justin remained the target. Overall, while the plot wasn’t quite solid, the romance is and it makes for a steamy read with a satisfying ending. The best part, however, is Myron, she’s so fun!

Wonderful hot read. It maybe short, but it is packed! Let’s see, what qualities did A Man Worth Fighting For have…stupid man logic, magic, angst, sex, paranormals, suspense, action, more sex and surprisingly humans?!?! A Man Worth Fighting For is book two in the Wiccan Haus collection. These are great short stories revolving around the Wiccan Haus Resort and Spa located off the coast of Maine. It is a special place for paranormals and humans alike; a place to go for spiritual and emotional healing. This I just the kind of place that Justin needs after being shot and almost killed by one of his own team members. His career is over. His knee is permanently damaged and he now has to give up being a soldier. It was all he had and ever wanted. Since his career is over, he also decides to kill his relationship with his girlfriend Holly. He doesn’t want to burden her with having to take care of him. He has nothing to offer her, so he cuts her lose one of the most cowardly ways possible. Holly can’t believe it…Justin is a coward! She can’t accept his breakup and is determined to hunt him down and have him explain his lame actions. She never expected to find him at a spa. Justin is a big strong manly military man and he is at a spa for spiritual and emotional healing, WHAT? Well by her calculations their conversation won’t take long, so off she goes to close this chapter of her life. Neither expected the circumstances of their meeting. Justin was shocked and immediately went into protective mode and Holly was reminded just how much she cared about this frustrating man. They have a week to determine what they are going to do. Each must work through their inner problems and discover what is best for them. It’s really too bad that the interfering staff of Wiccan Haus won’t leave well enough alone. Can you believe it? A Man Worth Fighting For is set at a primarily paranormal resort, ran by paranormals and the story is about two humans. I LOVED IT!! What a different twist. Yes, Justin knows about paranormals. In fact, he protects the rest of us by taking out paranormal rogues, but at the end of the day he is human and a damaged one at that. I never saw this twist coming…oops…I hope I didn’t ruin it for you. Oh don’t let my little slip stop you from enjoying this great little treat. The couple is fun to read about, they have some great hot (and wet) sex and even the meddlesome staff is entertaining. You even get a little suspense and action thrown in. Ms. Daniels packaged this plot well and I immediately loved both Justin and Holly. There was just the right amount of everything in this book. It was all well balanced and believable. Editing was spot on, continuity was solid and the whole short story was just wonderful. What more could you want from a mini vacation?
