Overview

A Man's Point of View is one man's point of view. It is an opportunity for men to see we all face interesting scenarios with women. For women, it is a window allowing them to see what goes on in one man's mind as he dates and finds the most amazing woman in the world to him during this process.

There are a number of books and articles about the dating world written by and for women. Many of the rules and articles for relationships seem to focus on what a man needs to change in order for a relationship to be successful. When I had gotten divorced there wasn't much out there to help men understand what warnings to look for and what red flags to avoid when venturing back into the world of dating. After one crash and burn experience too many in the world of dating, I figured somebody needed to write a book from a man's perspective since I struggled to find anything helpful to me. So, I began writing and started a Facebook page because I wanted to share with the world a guy's perspective about women and dating. Initially, I joked online about how men would find the book in the humor section, and women would find it in the self-help section.

PURPOSE OF THE BOOK: To share A Man's Point of View toward relationships, divorce, dating and much more.

GENRE: Relationships and Dating

TARGET AUDIENCE: Men & Women: People who are desperate to date.

WHAT MAKES YOUR BOOK DIFFERENT, BETTER AND UNIQUE?
This is one man's experience through dating after having gone through a divorce. It is an honest view point of what is going on in one man's mind on why things don't or won't work. It is humorous. As the man progresses in telling his story, love finds him when he wasn't looking for it. It has been described as a male's version of Sex and The City.

HOW DO YOU PLAN TO PROMOTE YOUR BOOK?
I have currently been promoting via social network on Facebook. I have gained over 54,000 followers and have just started to promote the book to them. I plan to leverage social networking strategies to continue to build followers and potential buyers. www.facebook.com/#!/WomenAndDating

I plan to do at least one signing a month in various locations ranging from Seattle, Los Angeles, San Diego, Las Vegas, Denver, Phoenix, and Chicago. Note: the cities mentioned are currently on my top 20 list of followers on Facebook.

Read an Excerpt

Little did I know at the time, I was about to possibly find the woman of my dreams. She was somebody who seemed like the perfect woman for me. Perhaps it was destiny for me to follow the weird path I took to find her.

It was another early day during an Arizona summer. The time was 5 a.m., and the sun had already illuminated my room. As I reached over to turn off the blaring alarm on my cell phone, I noticed that I had new messages. It was not unusual for me to get messages overnight. Normally, it's junk mail that managed to slip through the spam filter. Except that when I looked closer, I saw that I missed a number of text messages.

Jesus, I thought it was my ex-wife texting me like she did a few months ago. But, I remembered that I had blocked her number. As I checked the messages, I see the texts are from "Sherry". Now, Sherry isn't really her name, I changed it so that if you actually knew her, it would not come back to haunt me.

As I looked at the text messages, I noticed the time stamps on them: 12:01a.m., 12:02a.m., 12:05a.m., 2:15a.m., and 2:18a.m. The messages were clearly sent from a drunken state of mind. Sherry did like to drink from time to time. The messages during this round ranged from: "I'm uninviting you from coming over on Wednesday", "You lied and misrepresented yourself", "I am sorry that I can't do this", etc.

What the heck was wrong with this gal? We had four nice dates without any drama or conflict. I had left her place earlier in the evening thinking it was nice to finally meet a gal that wasn't showing too many red flags. We were taking our time with things. Nothing super serious was done physically because we both wanted to take it slowly. I swear to god, or whoever you believe, that I didn't lie or embellish any story with her.

Having to see the text messages when I woke up was not the best thing in the world. Nor was it the worst thing. Fortunately, I have an interesting sense of humor. My mother probably thinks I'm a bit disturbed. So, I jokingly posted on Facebook I was thinking about writing a book about the dumb things women say and do in today's modern dating world.

Instead of feeling hurt or bent out of shape about something meaningless, I figured I should start sharing with the world a man's point of view of the bullshit that we call dating. As soon as I posted my status, a flood of memories and experiences came pouring in: Single Moms, Online Dating Hell, The Athletic Chick, Ms. Squirter, The Psychotic, The Dentist, and The Soccer Fanatic to name a few.
